OK - Let's start this.  Dissident - I am happy for you to play.

Rudy - Number 1 all time.  Let's start there.  Unless you want to break it down by sport, then Football:  Rudy, Bball: Hoosiers or BlueChips.  Hockey: The Miracle.  What else?

BSMOOT

I also have similar feelings when remembering Hoosiers.  That is obviously why I listed it as the greatest basketball movie of all time.  It is definitely in my top 3.  However, I was a little older than you in 1987, and to say the least a little more preoccupied!  But a few years later, while watching the movie with my little brother I put the whole historical context into focus.  Oddly enough my brother, now a local high school b-ball coach, played a tournament in the original Milan, Indiana gymnasium where the actual state-championship banner is still hanging.  It humbled him and really brought respectful thoughts to a time when a small school winning a state championship meant more than today, when winning as a 1A school means you only beat the other smallish schools in the state.  Regardless of my trip down memory lane, the acting was brilliant - especially by Hopper.  It is truly a great movie.

But reallly not a true story, as most Indiana sports historians know.

Now let's talk about the movie Mighty Ducks 2!...JJ.

What are your thoughts then about Blue Chips?  It takes an even more serious approach to Indiana basketball, don't you think, as far as the corruption at the college level.   (I know the movie is about the fictional school "Western,"  but the similarities to the Bobby Knight era IU Teams are eerie.)   I have to admit, I had a personalized Indiana license plate with "BLU CHP" on my car for several years because I loved the movie so much (I'm a nerd!)  Nolte is one of my favorite actors, so maybe I am just star-struck, who knows.
