Week 8 Recap of the People Pole

That was too funny.  Guess I should have majored in brackets instead of Marketing and Accounting.

The only time I ever did well in a bracket contest was the '99 tourney where UConn upset Duke.  The local sports station had a national show who's college basketball expert was Bill Raferty.  Listening to him all winter for some reason was good luck because I ended up in the 99.8th percentile in ESPN's contest, which mant there were only 800 people between me and a prize.  Never been as close ever again.

Week 8 Recap of the People Pole

I have seen Mizzou play a couple of time this year and I am impressed.  I saw them destroy my Illini and this past weekend win over K st.

Follow this link for a laugh.

Week 8 Recap of the People Pole

Upsets are a function of higher ranked teams being overconfident and the fact there are probably 50+ programs now capable of beating anyone on a given night.  Look at how many good coaches there are at non-traditional D1 schools like Bobby Cremins at College of Charleston.  They make those mid majors dangerous to anyone they play.  Upsets are fun to watch, unless they happen to your favorite school or conference.

Just hope Mizzou stays under the radar until late in the Big XII season.  I like their chances to do well in the NCAA's.  Just a homer call on that one.
