Trevor Bayne , considered one of the more promising young drivers in the Nationwide Series, has lost his ride the No. 99 Diamond Waltrip car due to sponsorship issues.
In his first full season in the Nationwide Series, Bayne is seventh in points (second best among the non-Cup contingent) with five top fives and 10 top 10s in 28 starts.
But Bayne had a contract option that was not picked up lat week, which complicated his situation.
"That's what's caused all the turmoil this week," Bayne said after the Dover race in a article on NASCAR.com . "The only reason [the option] wouldn't be exercised -- the biggest thing is just sponsorship. It's not performance; it's not anything except sponsorship -- that's it."
Ryan Truex , younger brother of Martin Truex Jr. , is set to fill the seat at Kansas. With Martin Truex also set to drive in the Nationwide race at Kansas, it will pit the two brother against each other in the series for the first time.
No news on where Bayne may be headed just yet, but with any luck he won't be out of a ride too long.
He's the second Nationwide regular to lose his seat this week as Brian Scott was released by Turner Motorsports. Scott had been driving the No. 11 car for Braun Racing, which was bought out by Turner last week.
Scott, whos is 14th in Nationwide points, is rumored to be talking with Joe Gibbs Racing about a ride.

Bayne out, Ryan Truex in No. 99 Nationwide carI'm an idiot, it's Ryan Truex, not Martin. Ignore my rant. As long as a Cup driver isn't taking Bayne's spot. I'm happy it's Ryan and they're not just putting Martin Truex in the car.

Bayne out, Ryan Truex in No. 99 Nationwide carIt's stuff like this that results in 2010 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year Kevin Conway. Just change the name of the award from the Rookie of the Year award to the "Driver Able to Keep Sponsorship" award.
Sweet, yet another Cup driver in the joke that is the Nationwide Series. I hope that series goes under. It's now useless and doesn't serve its intended purpose. |

Bayne out, Ryan Truex in No. 99 Nationwide carHow exactly is NASCAR supposed to develop more talent this way? Hell, the Drive for Diversity program will be a failure with these kind of moves from teams
