The bad blood between Robby Gordon and Kevin Conway reportedly spilled over to a fight in the Las Vegas Motor Speedway garage area Friday afternoon.

The result of the fracas has Gordon on probation and Conway awaiting the wrath of NASCAR as well.

“Robby’s been put on probation – we’ll let everybody know for how long on Tuesday,” NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton said. “This doesn’t give Conway a free pass, either.”

The two are involved in a legal battle after being involved together on last year's Sprint Cup Series.

Gordon has filed a lawsuit against Conway's team sponsor Extenze while Conway has in turn sued lawsuit in their nasty spat over payments from the 2010 season.

Conway, who drove six races for Gordon's team last year, is seeking $27,000 from winning the Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year Award. Gordon is after $690,000 in back sponsorship money he feels is owed by Extenze and has indicated he'd pay Conway once that money was collected.

Conway has reportedly filed a police report against Gordon in the wake of Friday's altercation.

BUC- Conway doesn't owe Robby or FRM money. They claim his sponsor does. Robby pulled KC out of the car at Charlotte and got in the car when he knew he was not supposed to do that. It was against the contract. FRM didn't cut Conway, Extenze pulled their sponsorship because FRM could not prove it spent $ ONLY the Extenze car (which it wasn't). Robby owes KC money he earned while driving for him. FRM has forged KC's name on several checks from Exclaim... read the court doc's, it's all in there. As far as the fight, Robby was served with a suit by KC for the 27-29k that RG owes the day or two prior and while KC was watching JN (by the way he stared with NEMCO and they have no issues with Extenze) Robby decided to hide himself in KC's hauler and when he came back in RG jumped him, threw him to the ground and choked him and attempted to punch him but was not successful. He had major red marks on his neck over an hour later when the police took pictures. I realize you are a RG fan, but the dude is crazy, unstable, and running out of money in a hurry... and now has legal issues of his own with the assault. Expect lawsuits to follow this attack. It's common sense. There you go. Spin it how you wish.

Freshcut8, you have absolutely, positively no clue what you're talking about at all.  Conway brought the Extenze sponsorship along with him through his marketing company, Exclaim.  Conway's previous team- Front Row Motorsports also sued Conway, resulting in him being removed from that team last year.  So, there you have Conway and his marketing company basically stealing money from two lower-tier teams in the Cup series.  And now Conway's on to his third- NEMCO Motorsports in the Nationwide Series.  Let's see how long it is until Joe Nemechek figures out he won't be fully paid for sponsorship either.

And Robby's "not that good of a driver?"  Hmm... he's won the 24 Hours of Daytona, won at Sebring, he's won the Baja 1000 three times, seven SCORE titles, won in CART, Sprint Cup, the Nationwide Series, and is the only 100% driver/owner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  This is the seventh season of RGM in the Cup series.  The only assistance he receives from any other team is engines, which he receives from Penske.  The rest of his cars are built from the ground up.  On top of that, he runs Robby Gordon Offroad, makes off road racing wheels, and owns Speed Energy.  To say RG isn't talented, well, pretty much invalidates your opinion on Robby Gordon.

The fact that Extenze is a sponsor speaks volumes about the kind of people NASCAR appeals to.
