Harvick frist broke the news through his Twitter acount (@KevinHarvick): "4 weeks probation and $25,000 fine....I understand because of the car on pit road."
Harvick and Busch were involved in a crash with four laps to go at Darlington. Intially Clint Bowyer tried to take them three wide, but contact with Harvick sent him spinning. Harvick and Busch were going to escape trouble, but then Busch appeared to intentionally hook Harvick.
When Harvick attempted to confront Busch after the race, Busch was having none of it. With the two parked on pit road -- Busch behind Harvick-- Harvick climbed from his car and as he ran up to Busch's car, Busch stepped on the gas, pushing Harvick's car into the pit road wall and drove off.
Officials then called the two drivers into the NASCAR hauler and both played coy as to what was said behind closed doors.
"These penalties are a result of what occurred on pit road after the race was over," said Kerry Tharp, senior director for communications. "They are about maintaining a safe environment on pit road."
