BROOKLYN, Mich. - The morning has opened sunny and warm at Michigan International Speedway but the chance of rain increases as the day progresses. Local weather forecasts put a nearly sixty percent chance for thundershowers in play by early afternoon. The green flag for the Helluva! Good Sour Cream Dips 400 is slated for a 1:15 p.m. ET green flag.
So far in 2011, a Sprint Cup Series race has not been rained out.
Kurt Busch will lead the field to green Sunday afternoon after winning the fourth straight pole for Penske Racing in qualifying on Saturday.
The major story line of the day is Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s quest to end a three-year winless drought at the track where he last rolled into victory lane in June of 2008.
