BANK OF AMERICA 500 PRACTICE ONE

Kasey Kahne continued his late season surge by leading the way in Thursday's first Sprint Cup Series practice at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kahne, who finished second to Jimmie Johnson last Sunday at Kansas Speedway, turned a lap of 191.455 mph in his Team Red Bull Toyota to pace the field.

Paul Menard, Greg Biffle, Mark Martin and Regan Smith were the fast five.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying for Saturday night's Bank of America 500 is slated for 7:10 p.m. ET.
