Draft Picks and Picking Schedule

Quew, that's what I meant. How many teams made 3 or more separate player trades or more during the draft. What I've noticed during these mocks the past two seasons is that some managers will steamroll trades as the draft progresses, meaning they will do whatever it takes to acquire as many draft picks as possible. Even though that philosophy is what many GM's wish to do on draft day, it's just not realistic.

Also, you mentioned the Hawks had multiple trades. That was one team out of 32 that did 3 trades during the draft (not counting after the draft becuase it is irrelevant to us). I can pretty much guarantee that the # of teams with multiple player trades in this mock will be much higher than 1 out of 32, making this unrealistic as well. I don't want to put a damper on the trade thing, but I feel that some managers take advantage of other GM's in determining the fairness of trades, or some GM's severly undervalue their draft picks. I'm just not confident that this can be fairly regulated.

Draft Picks and Picking Schedule

Almost forgot about the 3 team trade that sent Ernie Sims to the Eagles, Tony Scheffler and (Broncos) 7th to the Lions. 5th round pick (Broncos) to the Eagles, and the Lions traded that 7th round pick from that trade for a 6th this year that they got from Tampa (Reggie Brown) to select Jamar Chaney.

So if you count that that makes 5 player trades. Plus more trades after the draft, a couple to Seattle. Traded a 6th to Seattle for Lawrence Jackson. He was available, because the 'Hawks traded a 6th to the 49ers for Kentwan Balmer. Also traded Polumbus for a 2012 7th round pick after he was collected on waivers from Denver. As the Lions did before, with the Jets, when the Pats cut Kevin O'Connell. Which that 7th is this year. I'd have to check if the Lions still have that 7th, which I think they do. There was a trade, than the trade was revised.. that was the Chris Houston trade. Not sure even now, if it involved a conditional 7th or not, nor if that condition was met.

What gets really convoluted is if Mayhew trades my pick which I traded in this mock. Some accomodations had to be made last year with the Giants. I'm speaking about the ID-42 3rd Annual draft that was in April.

Draft Picks and Picking Schedule

Lions did last year. In fact 4 player trades. All with rounds 5th or less.

In fact you have my 7th rounder this year due to such a trade. (Shaun Hill)

Shaun Hill, Chris Houston, Rob Sims, Corey Williams.

Although technically all of those trades were done before the draft.

If you mean during the actual time of the draft itself 3 player trades were done by one team I couldn't tell you. But if you mean in one offseason, before the draft. Lions made a lot of trades. More after the draft, but before the season started as well.

Hopefully the CBA gets in order. Because I'm acting under the notion, that if the CBA isn't signed and working, no player movement will happen at all. Teams can't even contact a player if the CBA isn't done by the 4th of March. (Obviously after March 4th.)

Although I think last year was an anomaly because teams didn't have a cap. So that was the year to trade without consequences. I.e no dead cap, if there is no cap.

Draft Picks and Picking Schedule

For the record I'm pretty sure Seattle made 3 player trades in this very last draft.

Leon Washington
Rob Sims
Lendale White

I am 100% sure about White and Washington, and 90% sure Sims was in this last draft too.
Oh and Chris Clemons they acquired too right.....There were player trades. The only dumb trades in these things are franchise QB's. We aren't gonna allow that, or like a Darelle Revis trade. It will be well controlled, just trust Patron.
