Steelers 2010 Free Agency

I am extremely happy with the way our organization has gone with free agency this season. The moves we have made have really solidified some of the areas we are lacking in this year. CB is that last spot we need to take care of. There are some free agents out there but none of which are really capable of being a first tier guy. Leigh Bodden has been resigned by the Patriots, so there goes that CB. Philip Buchanon, former Detroit CB, is available, and we have the draft to look forward to. However, will there be a skilled enough CB in the first round? There is a CB out of Floirda State named, Patrick Robinson. If he doesn't make the cut where do they go then. I see them either going CB or OL. Which are both necessities.

Steelers 2010 Free Agency

Each NFL team can bring in up to 30 predraft players in for tryouts. Navaro Bowman LB, out of Penn State was one of them that the Steelers brought in. If he is there in the 2nd round, sounds like the Steelers may take him.
They brought in about a dozen guys and only two was an offensive player. A WR and an O-Lineman. The rest was Defense. And that`s what i`d like for them to draft. DEFENSE! DEFENSE! DEFENSE!

I agree with you on them bringing back foote and randle el, however, I can't agree with saying that Foote will be replacing Farrior this year. I don't think Farrior has lost a step, he's still good and has atleast 2 or 3 years left in the tank. Foote will be a great back up and will be an awesome replacement when Farrior finally does retire, but not yet. On to the draft, I was looking at film of CB's and I really like Boise St's Kyle Wilson. I think he may be the best corner in the draft, even over Joe Haden. If we go lineman though there is no way you pass up Mike Iupati. The man has played 807 career plays or somewhere in that area and has never let up a sack. Now you tell me that wouldn't be nice to have with the way our line is. I could also see us taking Maurkice Pouncey the center from Florida. He can start at guard for you now and eventually replace Justin Hartwig, or replace him now. Either way the line is in great need of help. Although, the line is not fully disfunctional like our CB situation, and I think we should address that first.

Steelers 2010 Free Agency

I like the way the Steelers have signed a few of their ex-players back. Larry Foote and Antwan Randle El. I like James Farrior but you saw last year that he has lost a step. Foote most likely will take Farrior`s place this year.
I would like to see the Steelers draft an O-Linemen or a top notch CB. Draft Defense the top five or six picks. Alot of those guys are in their 30`s. That`s not good. Alot of those Steeler players in the 70`s ended up getting old together. And it showed. It took some years to get the defense back on track. I don`t want that to happen to this group.
They could still maybe get another CB. There are still a few out there yet. Whatever they do i hope Tyrone Carter is gone for good. To slow and can`t cover or tackle.
Fast Willie will probably not be back. I look for I. Redman to make the team this year. I think they are just fine on Offense. Defense is what they need. This year should be Lima Sweed`s last chance to be the number 3 or 4 WR.
For years i used to wonder why the Steelers make some of the moves that they do. Some of them don`t work out. But for most part they all do. This up coming year should be fun to watch. I`m sure they should be in the middle of the playoff race again.
