Series MVP: Jaroslav Halak, G, Montreal Canadiens

Everything noteworthy about Halak's performance in this series came after a rocky Game 4 appearance in which he allowed three goals on 13 shots and was subsequently pulled. He rebounded in brilliant fashion, stopping 131 of 134 shots over the next three games, holding the NHL's top regular season offense to just one goal in each contest. In Game 6, alone, he stopped 53 shots, setting an NHL record for most saves in a regulation playoff game when facing elimination and a new Canadoens record for most saves in a regulation playoff game.

Expert Picks

Off the Mark

Wes Goldstein: Washington in 5: The Caps have too much firepower for a team that backed into the playoffs.
Erin Brown: Washington in 4: Put aside the Caps' offense; Jose Theodore will be out to get his former team.
Mike Hurcomb: Washington in 5: Jaroslav Halak will make it interesting, but Caps' offense will be too much.
Dennis Dodd: Washington in 4: The Caps have so much firepower that it will be a huge surprise if they don't sweep.
