National Day of Prayer Task Force - Weekly Prayer Tip

God's Word for you this week
"How great is your goodness which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you. In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men; in your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues." (Ps.31:19-20)

Prayer for this week
"The shelter of your presence...how precious that is to me. Thank you for bestowing your goodness upon those of us who love you and have turned to you in faith. You have opened wide your doors of protection and abundance for your people. Thank you. Help me to continually be aware of your goodness and to proclaim your goodness to those around me."

Reading for this week
"God is presently seeking for a humble, praying people that He can pour His glory through. If we will not yield to the Holy Spirit in humble obedience, He will find a people who will! Some of us may have to visit someone else's fellowship in order to experience the coming move of God. Let's not deceive ourselves, God is not committed to use us, but He is committed to remember the prayer of the humble. (Psa. 9:12). If we refuse to prescribe to the Christ honored methods of humility and prayer, we will certainly be refused for the Master's use in the coming revival."

National Day of Prayer

We just got the news that Chris went home to be with our Lord.  Her children and family were all with her.  Please keep them in your prayers and thank you for prayers for Chris.  She is healed and free now.

National Day of Prayer

I have a prayer request.  I've asked for these people before, but I'm asking again today because the need has grown so great and I just talked with one of the daughters of these people.

My mother's friend Chris has advanced MS and now has bone cancer.  She has not had pain until today; now she is in a lot of pain.  They don't want to take her to a hospital so they are calling hospice to come in.  Family members are taking turns helping out because Chris is 90 and her husband Bud is 88.  Chris and Bud are devout Christians.  Bud is just beginning to come to grips with the fact that he will be losing Chris, even if we do not know how soon.

Please pray for Chris, that her pain would be relieved, that she would have some lucid moments to recognize the family and friends around her and interact as best she can, and that our Father would be merciful in easing her pain and in taking her gently home in His time.  Pray for Bud's strength and the strength of their family that as they do what they can for Chris, they would continue to rest on our Lord for comfort and strength and hope in the future, knowing Chris will eventually be home with God.  Pray that her passing, when it happens, would be a gentle one.  May our Lord have mercy on His servants and may His Spirit be felt by all of them throughout this challenging illness.  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen

National Day of Prayer

News Headline:  Vandals Steal Cross from Veterans' Memorial in Mojave Desert

After the ACLU lost its case in the Supreme Court to have to cross that marks a WWI veterans' memorial in California taken down, vandals cut down the metal cross Sunday night and stole it from where it stood for 75 years.  Veterans' organizations are outraged at the desecration of a WWI memorial site.

Please pray that these vandals are captured and prosecuted and that the memorial cross is replaced and properly monitored.  I believe this act should rise to the level of a hate crime under our new law.  Bet it won't, though.

God, protect our military, both active and retired, and change the hearts and minds of those who would do evil to dishonor the fallen and dishonor Your name.  You alone are worthy of praise and we trust that You will make all things right in Your perfect time.  In Jesus' name, Amen
