AL All-Star voting

Posted on: June 14, 2010 2:46 pm

Major League Baseball released an update on voting for the American League All-Star team today, and all the position leaders maintained and increased their leads.

Twins catcher Joe Mauer is far and away the biggest vote-getter in the AL with 2,617,822 -- that's more than half a million more than the second-highest vote-getter, Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.

The Rangers' Nelson Cruz is hanging onto the third and final starting outfield spot, but teammate Josh Hamilton, who's batting .412 this month, is rising fast. He's in fourth place, about 87,000 votes back.
