For the first time since last February, Manny Ramirez spoke to the media and the Los Angeles Times ' Steve Dilbeck has the details:
A sit-down interview. With a camera rolling. An attractive blond asking the questions. And, oddly, since it was for KCBS2/KCAL9, in Spanish.
It was brief, and as it turns out, for a good cause.
The television station set up the interview through his agent, Scott Boras, to discuss the donation of his 1994 Porsche 911 that’s being auctioned for charity.
Manny sat down with reporter Jaime Maggio, alongside team interpreter Kenji Nimura . The odd part being, Manny speaks very good English. Of course, he could just be out of practice.
The interview took place on the field. Even with the questions and answers being interpreted, the entire interview couldn’t have lasted much over two minutes. We'll see what secrets of life are revealed later in the day. Maybe as a former Clevelander, Ramirez had words of wisdom for LeBron.
