That's cold, Joe

Felix Hernandez On Saturday night, Yankees manager Joe Girardi watched Seattle's Felix Hernandez turn in a tough-as-nails, complete-game gem to beat his team. It was the third consecutive time Hernandez has faced the Yankees and come away with a complete-game victory, and made him the first person to accomplish that feat since 1990-91 (Jaime Navarro).

Girardi was so impressed that he used it as a reason to keep Hernandez off the All-Star team. With two replacement spots available for pitchers Sunday, Girardi picked Oakland's Andrew Bailey and Detroit's Justin Verlander.

"I wouldn't feel good about putting him in a game on Tuesday. He's deserving; he's been dominant,'' Girardi told reporters. "He has a real good chance of making this team if he doesn't throw 125 (actually 126) pitches yesterday."

So Hernandez, who is 7-5 (behind a terrible offense) with a 2.88 ERA, a league-leading 131 strikeouts and four complete games, is staying home for the break. But if he had begged off after six innings Saturday, he would have been an All-Star.

So pick a guy who can't play so you can pick another guy? If he picks him and plays him and he gets hurt then Giradri is a creep who ruined his season. If he picks him and doesn't play him Giradi is a pitcher short so if they lose the game because of pitching then Giradri is a creep and if he doesn't pick him Giradri is a creep.   It is a now win scenarion - do you have something out for Girardi or th eyankees in general?

Just yankee b.s., there are 17 picters on the All-Star roster, girardi wouldn't need to pitch him.  They are upset with the Cliff Lee trade.
