Dan Haren The Yankees may add to their rotation after all, as the team is on the verge of landing Dan Haren, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi report .

According to the report, the Diamondbacks are telling teams they are "in advanced negotiations with one club," citing major-league sources.

Among other interested teams based on several reports include the Dodgers, Tigers, Twins, Phillies and Cardinals.

Although the Yankees were dangling catching prospect Jesus Montero along with second baseman David Adams and right-hander Zach McAllister for the Mariners' Cliff Lee. The Diamondbacks would likely be looking for more pitching and it's unlikely Montero is available.

Haren is under contract through 2012 plus a club option for 2013, so it's not as if the team needs to get rid of him right now. However, the Diamondbacks are looking to slash payroll and Haren will make $12.75 million in each of the next two seasons and the team option for 2013 is for $15.5 million with a $3.5 million buyout.

UPDATE: Ed Price of FanHouse reports the Cardinals are out of the running for Haren, and FanHouse's Frankie Piliere tweets the Yankees' Ivan Nova is the key piece for the Diamondbacks in a trade with New York.

I believe you are wrong my friend. The Tigers stole Jackson and Coke for Granderson who can't hit lefties and should be a platoon player.

Quit bashing the Yankees for trying to make their team better!  You sour people!  If other clubs would spend the money they could give their fans a winner as well.  Just because the Yankees are not sitting back and doing nothing compared to other franchises doesn't mean start bashing them.  Hell, you should take notes and learn something.  Baseball is a business and if the competition just sits around they will eventually go bankrupt.  They lost out on Lee, now they are going a different direction.  So get off your whiny rants and give credit to a team that wants to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Youre a moron. The guy has been lights out since he has been with the A's. One bad season on an absolutely garbage team. Youre an asshat. Pick up a basball encyclopedia and learn a little about the game before you type your troglodytic garbage.

Once there is a cap on Baseball. Players will pull a Lebron, Wade , and Bosh to play for the Yanks and make less money to do it.

Sure......nevermind the 50 million price tag your boys paid just to NEGOTIATE with Dice K. That doesn't even count towards their payroll. Put a red sock in it. You still have to play the game. Baseball is the most even sport out there.

Report: Yankees close to landing Haren

Can we possibly get past one Yankees rumor without a pathetic Sox fan whining about buying championships.  Nobody told you guys to piss away money on Lackey or sign chumps like Drew, Lugo, Cameron, or Scutaro.  The only difference is that the Yankees scouted the market in advance and set up shop to sign CC & Tex.  Enough already.  You got your 2 rings for the century.  Let it go.
