The Royals have traded outfielder Scott Podsednik to the Dodgers for two minor leaguers, ESPN's Jayson Stark tweets .

Podsednik, 34, has hit in 15 straight games, including two hits in Wednesday afternoon's loss to the Twins. He's hitting .310/.353/.400 with five homers and 44 RBI, as well as 30 stolen bases.

Podsednik had been rumored to have garnered strong interest from the National League West, with the Dodgers and Padres also rumored to have discussed him.

The Dodgers aren't sure what they'll get from Manny Ramirez the rest of the season and currently having Xavier Paul and Garrett Anderson manning left field. Podsednik can step right in and upgrade the team's offense.

UPDATE: The Royals will get Triple-A catcher Lucas May and Class A right-hander Elisaul Pimentel, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! tweets .

-- C. A leadoff hitter hitting over .300 with speed (30 SB). The Reds have the worst OBP for all teams in the leadoff spot.

Tell me again why the Reds were not interested.
