Surgery for Twins' Mijares

According to a Twitter post by's Kelly Thesier, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Friday that left-handed reliever Jose Mijares has a torn meniscus in his right knee and will need surgery. Recovery time is about four weeks.

Mijares, 11 with a 2.81 ERA in 37 appearances this season, was hurt Wednesday and placed on the disabled list. He was replaced on the roster by Jeff Manship.
