Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte will make his first rehab start Wednesday in a playoff game with Double-A Trenton.
Manager Joe Girardi told reporters he expects Pettitte to make two rehab starts. The 38-year old starter threw a bullpen session Monday morning at Yankee Stadium.
Not only is Double-A Trenton in the playoffs, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is also in the postseason, giving the Yankees options for Pettitte's rehab starts.
UPDATE: Pettitte has been moved to Thursday, to keep him on regular rest.
