The Diamondbacks finished interviewing five candidates for their general manager position on Wednesday, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports.

The team interviewed interim GM Jerry Dipoto, former Padres GM Kevin Towers, Angels scouting director Eddie Bane and Dodgers assistant GMs Logan White and De Jon Watson.

None of those names are any surprise. Dipoto and Towers had been seen as the leading candidates since the beginning.

Gilbert speculates the team could have a GM in place as soon as next week. The team said it wanted a GM in place by the end of the season.
