Morneau unlikely to play again in 2010

Justin Morneau Justin Morneau is unlikely to return to the Twins in time for the regular season, and the postseason is doubtful as well.

"I don't see how it can possibly happen for him," manager Ron Gardenhire told Phil Mackey of ESPN 1500 . Morneau suffered a concussion earlier this season, last playing July 7 of a season shaping up to be MVP-caliber.

In 348 plate appearances, Morneau had 18 home runs and a .345/.437/.618 line anchoring the middle of the Twins' order.

Gardenhire did say Morneau has been improving as of late, but time is simply running out.

The Twins have moved forward by slotting Michael Cuddyer in first base, shifting from right field. Jason Kubel and Delmon Young have seen increased playing time in the outfield as well while Jim Thome adds to his Hall of Fame career by receiving the bulk of starts at designated hitter.

Morneau unlikely to play again in 2010

I have 2 jobs fyi.  And I'm not easily influenced like all these other people.  Obama was brought up because a lot of people voted for him.  The masses have been wrong before was the point of that.  I'm not going to all of a sudden just agree with you.  I voted for McCain, and frankly, I TOLD YOU SO.

Sidney Rice was brought up with Morneau because they both did their best to hinder their teams.  Amazing once again that you twinsfan22, and a majority of people on here resort to bullying because I don't agree with you which is really sad.

Calling me an idiot, a "tool", whatever original names you can come up with isn't going to force me to change my minds.  If you don't understand why I brought something up, then look at what other people said.  Again I didn't start any of this, you idiots all did!
I'm only here defending myself, and I will continue defending myself because I can stand up to every single one of you and put every single one of you in your places.

We'll miss you Morneau.  Get well soon.  There are more important things in life than sports.  Hope you can come back.  To those calling him a pansy, get off the couch and get a real life...

holy jesus larson, you do have head problems.  I think you are one of the idiots the doctors are talking about when they speak of people with major head trama that has effected them and they don't even know it.

You have rambled off several times with people voting for Obama?   WHERE DID THIS COME FROM.  Go back to Foxnews.com and ramble on there forums about half-assed ideas that make no sense.

And Sidney Rice?  What does that have to do with Morneau taking a knee to the head?  Its somehow Morneau's fault that Rice ignored some but not all of his doctors opinions and tried to avoid major surgery?

Because they happen to play in the same state for "teams that you are supposedly a fan of"  but after reading your rants all day, its quite apparent that your only a fan of yourself and your own deluded opinions.

I have never in my life seen one person get so trashed by so many people on a forum.  You Maam, are a complete tool.

CLake-Thank you for respectfully putting your opinion out there.  I know Lou Gehrig's tragic story, and it's sad.  I don't know, for me Morneau is different.  I wouldn't be so annoyed if it was one year of this.  But every year in September Morneau is either horrible, or he is injured.  And I think it's mental/how he does things that causes some of it.  Gehrig is tragic, because no one knew the consequences of anything back then, but in all reality the knee to Morneau's head did not look that serious.  Again, maybe it was.  I'm just more frustrated than anything else, and I just think that if you want to call yourself a star player that you need to be there and produce in september.  And I'll probably get bashed more for saying this, but I would trade him.  Not even kidding.  We can get another productive player, and/or some prospects.  Why does it matter if he's not there/consistently performing the whole season?

you are quite frankly an idiot, these are human beings who have families and lives outside of their chosen profession. I am as passionate about sports as anyone, being a die hard red sox fan all my life but, lets get some prespective about what is really important.

Obviously you know nothing whatsoever about concussions or you wouldn't make such a silly assertion.  You probably didn't read the story on Lou Gehrig which suggested that he may not have suffered from ALS at all but rather went down through a series of concussions he incurred during his career.  You might consider doing a little research before simply allowing the fan in you rob you of reason.

I'm the best-  Maybe they are playing it right.  But it's extremely frustrating when each of the last 3 years he's either sucked, and/or been injured in September.  I simply cannot understand 3 years in a row of this crap.  And I think it's actually more than 3 years he's not been able to produce in September for whatever reason for pretty much his entire career.  It's just frustrating.
