Dusty Baker The Reds and Dusty Baker have agreed to a contract extension, the Associated Press is reporting .

The team has a 12:30 p.m. press conference today before its workout at Great American Ball Park.

Baker's initial three-year deal expired after the season and the deal is expected to be a two-year extension. The Reds approached him with the extension during the season and last week Baker said the two sides were getting close on the extension.

The Reds are the third team Baker has led to the National League playoffs, along with the Giants and Cubs.

UPDATE: The Reds have made it official, sending out a press release on Baker's new, two-year deal.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The team has also offered two-year extensions to his coaching staff.

"With the success we had this year and really the last couple of years have been building to where we are today under Dusty Baker and his coaching staff, I think we got here a lot sooner than people thought and a lot of that is due to Dusty Baker and his leadership," Reds GM Walt Jocketty said.
