Fans didn't help Yankees' bid for Lee

Kristen Lee was going to be key to the Yankees landing Cliff Lee this winter. Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, who has pretty much been openly courting his old Indians teammate, emphasizes how close his wife, Amber, is with Kristen (that's Kristen on the upper right, with Amber next to her, in a photo courtesy of the Plain Dealer ).

Sabathia said that during the Rangers' last regular-season series in New York, he made sure Amber took Kristen out to see the sights and talk up the advantages of living in the Big Apple.

But it doesn't sound like Kristen Lee is much of a Yankees fan after her experience at Yankee Stadium during the ALCS. She told Bob Nightengale of USA Today that while sitting in the visiting family section, she was taunted, cursed, had beer thrown at her and was even spit at from the section above.

"The fans did not do good things in my heart," Kristen says. "When people are staring at you, and saying horrible things, it's hard not to take it personal."

Kristen Lee also talked about how much she has enjoyed having her husband just a 40-minute flight from the family's Little Rock, Arkansas, home.

"Cliff can fit in anywhere, but it makes my life a lot easier," she said. "We've never had a short commute before. Having a direct flight from Little Rock is great."

Sure, it's easy to say Lee will simply go to the highest bidder. But if you don't think his wife will have some input on the matter, well, I'm going to guess you're probably not married.

UPDATE: Lee addressed the report today during his media availability. He was asked if it would affect his free agency decision.

""=No. I don't know the guy that did it. It could be anyone," Lee told reporters . "Who knows? Who cares? They're at home right now."

I am not going to pretend to know much about Josh Hamilton's personal life, nor am I going to look up if he is married and if so to whom but doesn't that one in the middle (top row) look just like him but with longer hair, in essence someone how would marry, just a thought.

Anyway, yeah, the obviously has been stated over and over about Lee's game off the field, I wanted to further state the obvious and that is that you figure that beast would be use to a lifetime of harassment and poor treatment about her looks to where you would think it is second nature to her to be harassed now as I am sure it is every time she walks down the street in any city.

Only the blonde in the bottom row in the purple and the brunette in the blue next to her are even respectable...lol..

Wait, what were we talking about again, oh, right, this is a sports site..hahaha, I forget sometimes!

Oh, one last thing, there was a guy on here saying his wife looks better and he is just an average guy, right, I am sure in you mind she is the greatest, just like in Cliff's mind he thinks he is tapping some high quality stuff, not getting personal but unless you are going to put her pic up here to back up that claim then you just can't be believed.

JOSH HAMILTON'S PIECE/JOSH HIMSELF (TOP ROW MIDDLE)???

They were probably Texas fans that did it to make her not like New York and try to get him to stay. Just because it happened at Yankee Stadium doesn't mean it was Yankee fans. He will be in New York next year either way.

So in addition to being rude, obnoxious and arrogant Yankee fans apparently are morons too.  Maybe they were Red Sox fans so that Lee would sign with Boston...or maybe they were Philly fans so he would sign with the Phillies.  I really cannot get over how stupid that comment was...but what do you expect from a front runner...really dude...your favorite teams are the Celtics the Cowboys, the University of Miami and the Yankees???  I hear Manchester United, the Red Wings and the Lakers still have room on their respective bandwagons...

You guys crack me up implying that the Yankees have a monpoly on classless fans. Alcohol + poor educated slobs = classless fans, they are everywhere. Except maybe in Florida where you guys need to have fans actually show up to baseball games! Sorry for the dig - could not resist.

In all seriousness, she is a disaster. Looking at the earlier picture of her it looks like she has always had that overly fat face with big puffy cheeks. Like someone else said she does look like a cabbage patch kid. Im also surprised by how awful the other wives are but then again many baseball players date and marry their high school sweethearts. Im guessing that is why so many are ugly. But the good thing is they are with their husbands for the right reasons, love not the money. It doesnt matter anyway to the players. They married someone they are friends with and love and who will raise their family right while they are playing ball. When they go on the road that were they get their sexy side booty.

Now after giving my opinion about the unattractiveness of these women, let me say what the yankee fans did was wrong. Too many times yankee fans act like idiots towards opposing fans. I have no problem with someone booing someone or joking around with someone who wears another teams uniform at another stadium but I do have a problem when they start to get violent, throw stuff or put fear in that person for just wanting to support their team and have fun at a game.

Hilarious to hear a Buckeye fan chastising other fans for poor behavior.  I have been to 2 games at the 'Shoe and I'll NEVER go back.  Rudest, crudest fans in all of sports.
