And in a day filled with unsurprising option decisions, here's another: the Diamondbacks have declined their &.5 million option on first baseman Adam LaRoche.
The Diamondbacks owe LaRoche $1.5 million for declining the mutual option.
LaRoche hit .261/.320/.468 with 25 home runs and 100 RBI for the Diamondbacks. Decent numbers, but the free agent market is expected to be filled with first basemen and there's certain to be a cheaper option that can give similar production at a better price.
The Diamondbacks attempted to negotiate a deal with LaRoche to bring him back, but he seemed to want to test the free agent market. It may not be the best time to do that as a first baseman.
