Rangers decline option on Guerrero

Posted on: November 3, 2010 5:49 pm

Vladimir Guerrero The Rangers have declined their $9 million option on designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports .

Sullivan notes the team does want to re-sign Guerrero, who hit .300/.345/.496 with 29 home runs and 115 RBI for the Rangers in 2010.

Guerrero, who will be 36 next season, struggled offensively and defensively in the World Series. He managed just one hit in 16 plate appearances in the World Series and more memorably committed two errors in Game 1.

Rangers decline option on Guerrero

One could look at it that way, but he also made some good money for a DH role.  I personally would rather the Rangers pick up the option for Vlad.  They need money for the Cliff Lee lottery which will probably be won by the Yankees.
