Rangers visit Lee in Arkansas

The Cliff Lee courting continues, this time it was the Rangers who flew to Arkansas to meet with the belle of the free-agent ball, Anthony Andro of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram writes .

According to Andro, Chuck Greenberg, Nolan Ryan and general manager Jon Daniels met with Lee for approximately two hours on Monday before Daniels went on to the general manager's meeting in Orlando.

Greenberg declined comment to Andro.

Yeah, these kind of stories are a little on the silly side, but there's no game tonight, so we've got to talk about something, right? And hey, it was all over the place when the Yankees did it, so, you know, turnabout is fair and all that noise. I mean, the Rangers are the American League champs and all.

Candyjeff, you can't bitch and moan about the Yankees spending all that money every year when your teasm routinely spends 120-140 million a year on team salaries!! We are palying by the rules that the rest of the owners in baseball set-up in the last contract negotiations with the Player's Union. They thought it would deter the Yankees and they wouldn't spend wildly, but they go out and field the best team that thaey possibly can; they may not win every year, but it's not for lack of trying. Oh, and your remark about Yankee fans being disgusting and classless, root for a real team!!

A no-trade clause? I hadn't even heard that yet.  Oh wait, only in every story. And by the way, the last time he was traded...he was in Seattle and boarded a plane soon after the trade went through.

Lolz, the last time Cliff was traded he was bird hunting in the woods and didn't find out for 2 days.  So I suspect he is making his "suitors" go bird hunting with him out of spite.  Also expect a no trade clause to be a central part of any contract.
