Oh, those zany Mets

Posted on: December 17, 2010 5:45 pm

You must see the awfulness that is this promotional video for Mets season tickets. It's presented like a news story about the Mets making a big signing, complete with fake news conference and a strategy meeting between manager Terry Collins and general manager Sandy Alderson about this must-have piece of their 2011 puzzle.

The target? It's you! Get it? It's the biggest twist since The Sixth Sense !

Note to front office: This is how you make a funny fake commercial about the Mets.

Oh, those zany Mets

I just threw up all over my Benny Agbayani jersey... Ugggh... Disappointing crap, I feel bad for these guys. Lets remember they just got here and found out that they are working for cheap, greedy owners.

They will need to spend a couple of The Wilpons sheckles to improve the team. The Wilpons are here to make money, end of story, winning is secondary to them. We need ownership that wants to win, not just make money.

Oh, those zany Mets

As a Mets season ticket holder since 1997 and trying to decide if I will renew this year this video made by the new GM and Manager is a complete and utter joke. They are making no moves to improve this team for the 2011 season. I guess they're just waiting another year for Carlos Beltran and others to leave. In fact they are letting key players go that would at least keep this team competitive. I've been thru the moving of Jose Reyes to 2nd base to have Kaz Matsui play short. The brilliant signings of players such as Mo Vaughn, Luis Castillo, Oliver Perez (especially after having watched him pitch in the organization) and the latest Jason Bay, who might turn out good but we'll have to wait and see and K (I'll knock out my grandfather to my kids and in front of kids) Rodriguez. Trades for such players as Gary Matthews for Brian Stokes and signings like Mike Jacobs to play first and bat cleanup instead of bringing up Ike Davis after the spring he had in 2010, and the trades of such players as Billy Wagner, who ended up with Atlanta, Heath Bell, Scott Kazmir (for the wrong Zambrano) and Brian Bannister. The letting go of such players as Darren Oliver and now Pedro Feliciano and Hisanori Takahashi all good relievers. Thank god for guys like Angel Pagan, R.A. Dickey, John Maine (Before Injuries) The line up will now consist of C Josh Thole, 1B Ike Davis, 2B anyone other than Castillo, 3B David Wright, SS Jose Reyes, LF Jason Bay, CF Angel Pagan, RF Carlos Beltran, SP Johan Santana (End of June), Mike Pelfrey, Jonathan Niese, R.A. Dickey, Dillon Gee, Pat Misch or Jenrry Mejia. Now the once very good bullpen has been rocked with the losses of Pedro Feliciano, Hisanori Takahashi. It will consist of Bobby Parnell, Manny Acosta, Ryota Igarashi and others plus K-Rod. At least we are rid of Jerry "I hadn't a clue" Manuel and some of his jokester coaches. As for matching up with the Phillies....Forget-a-bout-it. As for me getting my season tickets, the Mets are calling me regularly.

Oh, those zany Mets

hahaha...its pretty hard to believe that this Mets team with all this talent has made it to the playoffs only once in the last ten years...SMH...the Mets offense is terrible, but hey at least the pitching will be just as bad this year so they should be no finger pointing ...

Oh, those zany Mets

You know that Wilpon is behind this, because anything that makes the Mets look like a laughing stock organization has "gene pool" winner Jeffy's finger prints over it.
Wake me up when the team is sold; then I will take them seriously again.
