Agent sets deadline for Pujols deal

Posted on: January 15, 2011 3:11 pm
Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak has vowed to remain tight-lipped on his efforts to sign Albert Pujols to an extension, but did share one detail with reporters on Saturday: It gets done by the start of spring training, or Pujols becomes a free agent after the season. The first baseman's agent, Dan Lozano, set the deadline at Pujols' request.

Pujols has made it clear he doesn't want to be distracted by contract issues during the season, but it was unclear precisely what the deadline was. Mozeliak has talked recently as if opening day was the target, but apparently the timeline is shorter than that. Pitchers and catchers report to Cardinals camp on February 14, with the full squad reporting February 19.

So yeah, John, it's only the most important contract in club history, and rioters will probably tear down the Gateway Arch at the mere thought of Pujols in pinstripes. No pressure.

Who cares if players are "drama queens" or not?  It's just business.  Either it gets done in St. Louis or elsewhere.  Yawn.

Agent sets deadline for Pujols deal

Baseball players are now like reality tv- drama queens!

Who cares if you negotiate Preseason, during the season or even post season? Really, he is giving an ultimatum of a deadline? Not very appreciative of the fans and team holistically, for the money they have over paid him to play this game.

Let these types of personalities go by the way side, tired of the trivial drama.
I am a huge Albert fan on the field, but this kind of crap, really? Than go back home where you came from. And leave the money you were  paid. America is good for you but you aren't good enough for America, got it, loud and CRYSTAL CLEAR!!!!!

Give me a break Albert!
