Wilson, Sheen discuss 'Major League III'

Brian WilsonSo why was Giants' closer Brian Wilson at Charlie Sheen's house? To advise on Major League III, apparently.

"Quite frankly, when Rick Vaughn calls the bullpen, I'm going to answer -- on a  professional level, of course," Wilson told Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Although TMZ.com called the get-together a "party," Wilson said it was more of a meeting to gain insight for another Major League movie -- apparently Major League: Back to the Minors didn't count as a true sequel, so they're making Major League III -- that or they're just trying, like the rest of us, to pretend it never happened. Anyway, Wilson said he was invited to talk about his workouts, pitching and other "baseball-related topics."

As far as any worries the Giants may have about Wilson cavorting with Sheen, Wilson said it's a non-issue.

"Basically [the meeting] was talking about how [Sheen] can portray this in the movie," Wilson said. "As far as talking about guilty by association, c'mon. I'm linked to the Sea Captain. I'm linked to the Machine. That doesn't bother me. People are going to make their assumptions. That's fine. You guys know me, know who I am. I shouldn't have to do a character sketch of myself."

The first Major League was released in 1989, meaning Sheen would be in his 23rd big-league season. Omar Vizquel also debuted in 1989, so it's not entirely out of the question. Other notables to have debuted in 1989 were Ken Griffey Jr., David Justice, Deion Sanders and Sammy Sosa.

Wasn't there already a Major League 3? Where one of the former players was coaching a minor league team?

Caddyshack II.  Worst ever sequal compared to any other sequal. They ought to burn the film, the directors cut, the master cut, recall all of the dvd's video tapes, reel to reels, video discs, beta, whatever and burn 'em.

Probably a safe bet NOT to lock up Brian Wilson in any sort of long-term contract, whether in real life or in your fantasy baseball league.  This guy is way too focused on off the field schenanigans than he is in being ready for the season.  What a nut-job!!!  How long before this guys DUI, domestic dispute or drug charges!?!  A ticking time-bomb to stay away from in my opinion.

This is what us Cleveland Indians fans have to look forward to? A documentry on how bad we stink? This is what we are remembered for a "B rate" movie and Charlie Sheen as the lead?

If Charlie can get off the sauce maybe he makes a good sequel. I guess we could parlay this into the life of Albert "don't call me Joey" Belle, Kenny Lofton and ManRam days of old? Let's hope Grady Sizemore stays in Cleveland and we make a run at something in the real MLB. Sigh probably not but I will go see this flick.

Well this is the best us Indians fans have to look forward to? Great another documentary on how we suck! Major league the true life saga of the Kenny Lofton, Manny Ramirez, Albert "Don't call me Joey" Belle and Carlos Baerga led Indians of the 90's. War Major league 3 and 4. Just get Charlie Sheen err rick Vaughn off the sauce long enough to film. I say make Jack Sparrow be the lead instead...
War we keep Grady Sizemore and do something/anything this year in real MLB baseball versus celebrating a movie about us. Sigh... probably not going to happen...
