C.J. Wilson The Red Sox seem to be the consensus pick to win the World Series, or at least they are here at CBSSports.com.

Color Rangers starter C.J. Wilson unimpressed by Boston's offseason additions of Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez.

"I mean, it's pretty much the same lineup they had last year with two additions, right? And I've faced both those guys before," Wilson said on Thursday, according to the Boston Herald . "It's not like all of a sudden they have the ghost of Ted Williams playing for them or something."

Of course, Wilson fails to note the Red Sox also add healthy versions of Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis and Jacoby Ellsbury. It's not like adding Crawford and Gonzalez to the 2010 Red Sox, it more like adding those two to the 2009 edition.

"I'm not really too worried about it," Wilson said. "If I make my pitches, then that's really all I can control."

Wilson does have an advantage against the heavily left-handed lineup of the Red Sox, who will have four lefties in the lineup even with J.D. Drew on the bench tomorrow. Wilson held lefties to a .144/.224/176 last season and didn't allow a home run to a left-handed hitter. Lefties hit .181/.272/.255 against him in his career. He was 3-0 with a 0.86 ERA against the Red Sox last season.

Wilson not that impressed with Red Sox

i thought they were writing about Brian Wilson
So did I. Only reason I clicked on the story to begin with.
Ranger fans dont even know who CJ Wilson is
I get that you're being sarcastic, but it's not like he's the worst pitcher on the Rangers' staff. Dude's pretty good, although, he could be a one year wonder.
"I mean, it's pretty much the same lineup they had last year with two additions, right?
Wrong. They got one of the best OF's and 1B in the game and added them to an already ridiculous lineup. Idiot.

I too hope he gets destroyed for running his trap like this. Keep your mouth shut and worry about not crumbling under the pressure of being the #1 pitcher on your team. See how well you do when Lee isn't around...

Guaranteed the Sox light this tool up for 5+ the first time they play each other.

Wilson not that impressed with Red Sox

This would have been a much better story if Wilson said, "I have absolutely no confidence in my ability to handle this lineup. The Red Sox are stacked and I'm probably going to get creamed."

It also would have been more interesting if it were Brian Wilson saying something about the Red Sox, despite playing in a different league and having no association with them. I could have a good time reading Brian Wilson quotes all day. But C.J.? meh

I like how this one-year wonder thinks he's got carte blanche for running his mouth. Hope you get blown up every start and possibly get beers thrown at you.
