Of course he was.

I'm a firm believer in the adage that you are the people with whom you associate, so it's no shock that Lenny Dykstra and Charlie Sheen are buddies.

After Dykstra was held on $150,000 bail for almost a week on bankruptcy fraud charges, Sheen fronted $22,500 to bail him out, according to TMZ.com .

Dykstra, 48, was jailed on April 14 for unrelated charges of theft, when it was discovered he was embezzling from his bankruptcy estate, which is a federal offense. Upon filing for bankruptcy in 2009, Dykstra said he owed over $31 million but only had about $50,000 in assets. After filing, Dykstra allegedly stole or destroyed $400,000 worth of property from the estate -- which was supposed to be used to pay off creditors.

Dykstra played 12 seasons in the majors, split between the Phillies and Mets. He was a three-time All-Star and finished second in MVP voting in 1993 -- he hit .305 with a .420 on-base percentage and scored 143 runs. He was 30, but unfortunately that was his last fully healthy season, as he only played a combined 186 games over the next three years before retiring. He was initially a very successful businessman upon retirement, but things changed significantly for him between 2006 and 2009.

A bank didn't lose money, dummy.  His creditors did.  Innocent people to whom this ass owed money.  I especially like how he destroyed property instead of using it to repay his debt.  He should do time for this.

I know this is supposed to be a website about sports news, but what's with the ever dropping quality of journalism on this website? The most enjoyable thing about articles on CBSSports is how failed journalists take cheap shots at somewhat-relevant celebrities in a classless attempt to get more hits on their articles. First Freeman, Doyel, and now this Snyder guy. Enjoy your $500 a week paycheque pal, because I can't imagine CBS pays hacks like you more than that, and that's if you're on the payroll.

Chalie Sheen had to try and get himself more attention because the media has stopped paying attention to him.  Really, how do you rack up 31 million dollars in debt?  Crazy.  These athletes spend money like they have a money tree in their backyard.

Who in the hell would let this guy rackup 31 Mil in dept!!!!  All i can say is that I am sick of pro athelets who make far more than the average american go into debt, screw them!!  On espn radio today they were talking about how over 70% of nfl players are in debt or have financial hardship 5 yrs after they retire.  Again tough sh#t!!  Let Dyksta rot in jail!

Wait..Dykstra stole property and destroyed it? What the hell for? And does he still like to think of himself as a hot-shot financial whiz? Was his broke ass sitting in county and bragging on his mansions and private jets (think Eddy Murphy in "Trading Places") to his fellow inmates? This moron made millions playing baseball, made tens of millions after getting out of the game, and leveraged all his money into bad debt that sunk him.

Charlie never stole anybody's money. Lenny is not right in the head AND he's a thief. Charlie would do well to stay far away from Lenny.
