Scott still doubts Obama's birth certificate

Luke ScottThe Orioles' Luke Scott still doesn't believe President Barack Obama was born in the United States.

"[President Obama's] birth certificate has yet to be validated," Scott told Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star.

Scott, a proud birther, made headlines at the winter meetings when he told Yahoo!'s David Brown he didn't believe the president was born in Hawaii and that he was "hiding something."

Obama, of course, released the "long form" birth certificate so many had asked to see recently. That wasn't good enough for Scott.

"If they can counterfeit $100 bills, I think it's a million times easier to counterfeit a birth certificate, if you ask me," Scott said. "So, all it is, let's just see if it's real. Anybody can produce a document, so let's check it out."

The Orioles, it should be noted, have done their best to distance themselves from Luke's outspoken political beliefs and have asked him not to talk about them on company time, but have also allowed him to exercise his right to free speech.

In more important matters, Scott was 2 for 5 with a three-run homer in the Orioles' 6-5 loss to the Royals on Tuesday. It was his sixth homer of the season.

Scott still doubts Obama's birth certificate

"Racism?  Where did he say anything about race?  Obama is hiding something or he would have produced the document sooner!  Where there's smoke, there's fire!  And this so-called President is a blazing inferno!  That makes him orange in my book!"

He didn't do it sooner because it's a non-issue (i.e. there are a fair amount of people that did the citizenship research LONG before he was elected) and a distraction. Had you listened to anything he said at his "revelation" presser, you'd know that. But people like you don't listen. You feed off your own hatred, of self and others. Sleep tight.

Luke Scott, I don't believe that you were born in the U.S. Please produce your birth certificate immediatly! Of course, when you do produce it I will claim that it is a fake.

This is how crazy you sound.

This is what Article II of the U.S. Constitution requires for the office of President:

"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States."

Neither parent has to be a U.S. citizen if the child is born in the U.S.  If the child is born outside the U.S., both parents must be citizens and at least one must have had a U.S. residence prior to the birth.  Obama was born in the state of Hawaii to a mother who was an American citizen.  There is no impediment to his qualifying to be President under Article II.

All presidents from George Washington to Andrew Jackson were not born in the United States; they were born as British subjects in the American colonies.  The "or a citizen" clause above, resolves this issue.

I'm dropping this moron from my fantasy baseball team.  Scott's views tick me off and I don't need to follow jerks like him.

There is nothing fishy about it.

What part of "government" doesn't have something fishy about it???  All politicians are looking out for #1, not the people!  I don't care what party you belong too, they all can come up with something if they need to to keep their agenda moving forward.....
