Scott still doubts Obama's birth certificate

Luke ScottThe Orioles' Luke Scott still doesn't believe President Barack Obama was born in the United States.

"[President Obama's] birth certificate has yet to be validated," Scott told Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star.

Scott, a proud birther, made headlines at the winter meetings when he told Yahoo!'s David Brown he didn't believe the president was born in Hawaii and that he was "hiding something."

Obama, of course, released the "long form" birth certificate so many had asked to see recently. That wasn't good enough for Scott.

"If they can counterfeit $100 bills, I think it's a million times easier to counterfeit a birth certificate, if you ask me," Scott said. "So, all it is, let's just see if it's real. Anybody can produce a document, so let's check it out."

The Orioles, it should be noted, have done their best to distance themselves from Luke's outspoken political beliefs and have asked him not to talk about them on company time, but have also allowed him to exercise his right to free speech.

In more important matters, Scott was 2 for 5 with a three-run homer in the Orioles' 6-5 loss to the Royals on Tuesday. It was his sixth homer of the season.

Racism?  Where did he say anything about race?  Obama is hiding something or he would have produced the document sooner!  Where there's smoke, there's fire!  And this so-called President is a blazing inferno!  That makes him orange in my book!

You are wrong! The president is required to be born in the United States. It doesn't matter if your mother or father were born in the U.S.  This requirement only pertains to the president seat, it is not required for running for the senate.  I completely believe Obama was born in Hawaii, but you need to get the facts straight. Unfortunately, this also means that Tim Tebow could never run for President even though he was born to American born parents.

If Obama took us all back in time and showed us that he was being born in Hawaii at that exact moment, there would still be some people coming up with reasons why it couldn't have happened.
I wonder where Luke Scott stands on dinosaurs...  I'm going to guess he's one of these guys that thinks it was a Flintstones situation.

You know Brady, it's people like you that kill me!!  You sit there and judge someone by calling them a "bible boy" and sit in your high and mighty chair thinking you are so awesome...you are nothing more than a hypocrite!  You judge Luke (who I think is going a little far by the way, but still has his right to free speech), yet you cry that Luke is judgemental of Obama.  You need to think before you open your mouth!

You gotta love these nutjob right wing radicals.  They come up with these extreme theories, and defend them to the bitter end, with complete disregard of facts.  Of course the release of the long form birth certificate isn't enough.  Just keep defending your insane idea no matter what.  And also, I'm not a fan of the last sentence of this article.  Going 2-5 against the Royals isn't more important than thinly veiled racism directed toward the President of the United States.

(that last comment was very tongue in cheek by the way, meant to show how both sides can be ridiculous)

If Obama took us all back in time and showed us that he was being born in Hawaii at that exact moment, there would still be some people coming up with reasons why it couldn't have happened.  It's the nature of people.  Once they start believing something, they are very likely to continue belieiving it even against unquestionable evidence against that belief.  Belief can be a virtue sometimes, but the birthers have been proven wrong and will never go away.  They just like stirring up trouble for trouble's sake.  Why don't we direct our energies to something more useful like prosecuting George W. Bush for his crimes against humanity.
