Scott still doubts Obama's birth certificate

Luke ScottThe Orioles' Luke Scott still doesn't believe President Barack Obama was born in the United States.

"[President Obama's] birth certificate has yet to be validated," Scott told Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star.

Scott, a proud birther, made headlines at the winter meetings when he told Yahoo!'s David Brown he didn't believe the president was born in Hawaii and that he was "hiding something."

Obama, of course, released the "long form" birth certificate so many had asked to see recently. That wasn't good enough for Scott.

"If they can counterfeit $100 bills, I think it's a million times easier to counterfeit a birth certificate, if you ask me," Scott said. "So, all it is, let's just see if it's real. Anybody can produce a document, so let's check it out."

The Orioles, it should be noted, have done their best to distance themselves from Luke's outspoken political beliefs and have asked him not to talk about them on company time, but have also allowed him to exercise his right to free speech.

In more important matters, Scott was 2 for 5 with a three-run homer in the Orioles' 6-5 loss to the Royals on Tuesday. It was his sixth homer of the season.

Scott still doubts Obama's birth certificate

Kenya was declared a crown colony by Great Britain in 1920. Kenya became an independent nation in 1963. Thus, your first assertion is quite false. Also, the hospital name is correct as the hospital took the name "Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital" in 1931 (see http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=292577 for proof in the form of another birth certificate from that period, on what appears to be an anti-Obama website.) Thus, your second assertion is false.

i like to consider myself a fairly open minded person, so i did look up the interview with obama's grandmother where people claim she says he was born in kenya. first of all, the interviewer asked extremely leading questions in a foreign language. and if you listen to or read the entire interview, you would hear the interviewer repeatedly corrected and explicitly told "he was born in America." Time to do something better with your life than being racist/ethnoce
ntric under the guise of patriotism. i don't remember a lot of people asking for george bush or bill clinton's birth certificates. get over it.

On the supposed birth certificate his father is listed as a resident of Kenya. Obama was born in 1961, but there was no Kenya until 1963. The hospital listed as place of birth in Hawaii did not go by the name listed until many years after his birth!. The "Hope and Change" is that he hopes you don't catch the change he made to his birth certificate.

Ah slipperydog drinking the Kool-Aid again. That story on the grandma saying he was born in Kenya is wrong. The fact of the matter, is that the person asking her the question was done through a translator, and the translator got it all screwed up. Of course you racist went after that false story like pigs to a trough.

I've always liked Luke as I have good memories of him from the Astros. He never came off as all that bright though.

Don't any of you remember why this is an issue to begin with? First of all if his Mom is an American is does NOT make him an American. If his mom is from China does that make him a Chinese citizen? Look at all those Illegals that jump the river to have birth on American soil. That there is a problem......Let me go back to why, Before he was elected his Grandma said she witnessed BO being born in Kenya! Thats right look it up, thats why this has been an issue to begin with! Now almost 3 years later....watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!

Actually, even if you were born in Canada, as long as your parents were US citizens you could still be President of the US. You would have had to be a resident of the US for 14 years prior to running for the office.
