Gooden/DykstraBy Evan Brunell

Stories about Lenny Dykstra are getting crazier and crazier.

“Dykstra came to visit me on ‘Celebrity Rehab,’” former Mets great Dwight Gooden told WFAN’s Boomer & Carton on Tuesday according to CBS New York. “I’ll tell you what, it was crazy. He thought that I had been hypnotized and [Dr. Drew Pinksy] got me in there and was holding me hostage. He tried to come in with two guys to get me out of there.”

Gooden is one of the bigger names appearing on 'Celebrity Rehab' season five, which will air sometime in the fall of 2011 or winter. He will be joined by a cast that includes Michael Lohan, father of Lindsay.

“So they come in. I’m talking to him, he wanted to talk, ‘Doc, I don’t like this,’" Gooden recalled." So we go out on the patio, me and him and the two guys are sitting there, we’re talking.

“He said, ‘you sure this is what you want?’ I go ‘yeah.’ He goes, ‘I don’t know, I don’t feel good about this … let me take your bags and if you don’t like it, you call me.’ I was like, ‘trust me, I’m cool.’

“This is not part of the show. This is real stuff,” Gooden continued. “Whether they got it [on video] or not, I’m not sure.”

Dykstra has made headlines recently for, in short, acting like Charlie Sheen. Dykstra was bailed out of jail by Sheen when Dykstra was jailed for bankruptcy charges. Nails had previously admitted using performance-enhancing drugs, saying he was "like a pioneer for that stuff." He was also in the news last month for asking a prospective housekeeper to give him a massage while he was buck naked.

BTW: who wouldn't wanna experience a night out with Charlie Sheen and Lenny Dykstra??

Hangover 3??

I'm sorry, but as for Sheen, he's up there with K-Fed as a true hero to men everywhere... Men everywhere claim to never love a ho, and get married within the decade. Doesn't Sheen deserve credit, instead of ridicule, for being true to the game??

=D

Sorry to side with (gulp) Nails on this one.... but common Doc, you're a freaking legend... don't sell out for an extra 15 minutes of fame.  Celebrity Rehab? Really? You won the Cy Young in New York and you want this kind of attention?  And for those of you who think I'm wrong for speaking out against people getting help for their problems, you're wrong: I totally support people trying to better themselves, but the Rehab show is a joke...

Stoners know from watching TMZ... the rehab celebs from that show; party harder than before they discovered they had a problem-

Say what you want about Dykstra, and all the desperation moves he's made, and all the poor choices he's currently making... Doc should've thanked him for reaching out, and not slammed him in the media, at a time when Lenny needs all the friends he can get.

the most disturbing part for me is....Dykstra has a house keeper and he was jailed for bankruptcy charges?  How is that possible?

The guy's a loon.  Used to love Nails, but he's a dick who's ripped off many innocent people.  Watch the 60 Minutes report on him from a year or so ago.  that mother f'er is crazy.

The show should of asked Dykstra to stay.  Now that would of brought some ratings.

I thought Dykstra was in prison.
Not yet. Soon, though.

I don't know which is more bizarre-- Lenny Dykstra trying to "save" someone when he can't take care of himself or Doc Gooden having the awareness that he needs help and Dykstra was getting in the way of it happening.  Maybe bizarre isn't quite the right word, but I think you get the drift.  It's a strange situation.
