Webb, who signed a one-year deal worth $3 million in December, hasn't pitched since opening day of 2009 because of a shoulder injury.

The 2006 Cy Young winner has spent the last two months in extended spring training in Arizona.

"I need to get out of Arizona," Webb told's T.R. Sullivan. "I got my pitch count up, that was the main goal."

He made five starts in extended spring training, working his way up to 80 pitches over six innings, but he's not expected to throw more than three or four innings on Monday.
