Chone Figgins' minuscule batting average is probably a sore spot for most Mariners fans, but not those who regularly attend Norm's Eatery and Ale House every Monday night. That's because Mondays are "Gettin' Figgy With It" night in the watering hole, and pints of Widmer beer are priced based upon Figgins' average. (q13fox.com)

That means, where things stood heading into Saturday night, Figgins' .202 mark would mean the price for a 16 oz. Widmer draft would be $2.02.

Sure, it's kind of funny, but isn't that bad for business? Wouldn't it be better to pick, er, wait. The Mariners are hitting .232 as a team and Ichiro Suzuki's .285 was tops on the team heading into Saturday night's tilt with the Yankees. I guess it would be a great deal no matter who Norm's chose.

Widmer is great beer. I Think it is a Portland Beer.  The have a great hefeweizen. By the way, Figgins may be the worst free agent signing of Jack Z's career. Why spend that kind of money on another ichiro clone- except for that hitting part. Wheres the Power Jack? M's wuld be lucky to be able to deal Figgins.

I think thats beyond funny. Im just glad they dont charge us Mets fans the price of a steak for our teams owners miscues-anyone looking to purchase a billion dollar steak. Or how about a 200 million dollar salad. I would gladly pay 2.02 for beer. I think other establishments do some promoting like this. But maybe on a positive note.

Widmer makes some great beers. A pint for $2 is freakin awesome! Unfortunately, the necessity of providing Mariners fans with an inexpensive means of self-medication is troubling.
