Mark Teixeira

By C. Trent Rosecrans

While there was plenty of talk about batters being plunked during the recently completed Yankees-Red Sox series, there wasn't much done about it besides talking to reporters.

Well, with the Red Sox safely out of town, the Yankees got bent out of shape when Fausto Carmona hit Mark Teixeira in the second inning and the benches cleared. Sure, it wasn't much more than a basic baseball millabout, but it could be worth watching in the next couple of days.

On the first pitch after Curtis Granderson launched a homer to make it 4-0 Yankees, Carmona hit Teixeira between the shoulder blades. Teixeira got up yelling at Carmona, and manager Joe Girardi joined him.

Girardi and Indians manager Manny Acta also had a prolonged discussion about the day's events.

Carmona has now hit seven batters this season, and Teixeira has been hit seven times this season, including Tuesday against the Red Sox when he had to leave the game.

Carmona struck out Teixeira in the fourth in their next meeting.

General Joe; quit acting the fake tough guy you fool. The Texter gets drilled and you lead the charge to the mound. WEAK! Why not handle that joke of a pitching staff; get the Jete's to finally stop hitting into double plays and find some relief help and shut up! You're a loser and will drive this years' Yankee team down the wrong lane in the AL East!.

Ortiz doesn't want to run that far.   He might walk out to the mound if the pitcher had a hamburger.

Let me begin by saying I hate the Yankees.

That's okay, but I don't remember asking if you liked them or not! There's a lot of people who hate the Yankees and that's okay too! I think most people hate the Yankees because their jealous of a great franchise, great players and a great tradition! There are a lot of haters out there but sports wouldn't be as great if there wasn't!

Let me begin by saying I hate the Yankees. It's about time someone on the "Stankees" got some sack and finally got tired of being the donkey in the "pin the ball on the donkey" that pitchers have been playing with Yankee hitters lately. Pitchers have been throwing in and at the Yankee hitters for about a month now to try and keep em off the plate and they have been getting plunked more than normal. Some were flat out intentional. I'm glad to see an Annapolis boy (my hometown) step up and say "that's it". You go Tex. This team needed some rallying cry from somewhere and this may be it....watch out AL opponenets for the next 2-3 weeks.

By "class" do you mean someone like Posada, refusing to go into the game and bat 8th?
Or A-Roid, who will knock a ball out of your glove, or try to get you to miss a pop-up as he runs past you on the basepaths?
Or maybe you are talking about A.J. Burnett, America's Biggest Crybaby?
