Video: Phanatic hit by foul ball

I mentioned the Phillie Phantaic being hospitalized this morning after being hit with a foul ball in Pepper earlier, but NBCPhildealphia.com has the video, and that deserves its own post.

Here it is:

Tom Burgoyne, the man inside the green fur, was taken to a hospital shortly after the incident and was released shortly thereafter. He updated his status on his Facebook page Thursday:

 

Talk about a gamer, though. The show must go on, and it did. I'm not sure if I got hit in the head with a baseball, I'd stay in character. And not only that, he was just helping out the minor league team, it wasn't even during a big-league game. You, Mr. Phanatic, are truly an inspiration -- the wind beneath the wings of mascots everywhere.

Just goes to show you, we not only have the best mascot but the toughest. Philadelphians are used to black eyes and when they are knocked down they get right back up and continue to fight. That's why we are the fightin capital of the world.
