Riggleman gets TV gig

Posted on: June 27, 2011 4:28 pm

By C. Trent Rosecrans

Former Nationals manager Jim Riggleman is employed again, as Comcast Sports Net Chicago announced Monday that Riggleman would join the network for this weekend's Cubs-White Sox series.

Riggleman will serve as an analyst on the pregame and postage shows.

We'll see if he quits during Sunday's game for not having a longer contract.

Riggleman gets it

Long time Senators/Nationalss fan here, and he was under contract, with the "team" issue being built helping with the success this season.  He walked out on the guys.  Honor your contract, and then trash the team if necessary, not during it.  Riggleman the leader of a team as the manager, screwed the team.  Self centered prick!

Riggleman gets TV gig

Riggleman did what we all would do if we felt we were getting screwed at word - he went to mgmt and asked for a better deal and when they said no he did the manly thing - he quit. But what would somebody named C. Trent know about masculinity?

Really, really unprofessional article.  One must assume Mr. Rosecrans has incriminating information on his bosses -- how else would he keep his job?

Wow man. Is this an editorial or a news story? Do you know the difference? Maybe I don't. Explain it to me.

Riggleman gets TV gig

There were already rumors of a palace coup in favor of Davey Johnson and Riggleman decided he wanted to press the issue.  Clearly, he had done a good job and didn't deserve to have an axe hanging over his head and figured this was the only time he might have any leverage in his favor.  Guess the rumors were right as he's out and, gee whix, in a crazy shocking turn of events Johnson is now signed on to manage through 2013.  Riggleman was a good manager and from what I've heard a good guy who now will have the stigma of "quitter" attached to his name by the likes of Rosencrans for the rest of his career.  Nice example of not bothering to do any real journalistic digging and just appealing to the lowest common demoninator as Riggleman deserved better than this.

Is this your idea of a joke or are you just the biggest idiot on this site(maybe a toss up between you and Ray Ratto)? I'll say the idiot fits best. The only joke here is you having a job and cbs posting the garbage you spew. Riggleman did what he did out of pride, honor and self respect. If you had a clue about what you are saying then you would have left that stupid comment to yourself. Why don't you do us a favor and quit writing and find something you are capable of doing because writing articles and telling jokes isn't it. I guess you just had 2 lines for this story so you had to throw in your stupidity.
Also learn how to proof read your stories before you try to get a job at the National Enquirer.
