Stow: 'I'd rather eat feces than a Dodger Dog'

By Matt Snyder

Now that TMZ uncovered a video of beating victim Bryan Stow arguing with Dodgers fans in the crowd back on Opening Day -- before being jumped from behind and beaten into a coma by a pair of Dodgers fans in the parking lot -- the story continues to grow.

The latest revelation is that the man arguing with Stow in the video has text messaged about Stow's behavior before the assault.

Juan Banda, who was arguing with Stow during the game, reportedly told his friends to watch his back as he got up for a bit, but nothing happened. Banda also said "[Stow] did have a mouth, though!"

The major quote from the exchange is that Stow told Banda, "I'd rather eat my own feces than eat a Dodger Dog," to which Banda said Stow crossed the line. Banda also pointed out, "maybe [Stow] said the wrong thing to the wrong guys!" (all quotes via text messages recovered by TMZ.com)

OK, well, I guess that's possible.

It's possible he said far worse to incite the assailants and no witness has come forward to tell authorities, but if the only thing he said is he'd rather eat crap than a hot dog, is that really worth jumping the guy?

He apparently didn't even use profanity when he said it. I understand we're trying to get both sides of the story and that it's possible Stow wasn't a complete angel for the entire game. But exchanging words about Dodger Dogs doesn't make it acceptable for two guys to jump one from behind and beat him within an inch of his life.

That doesn't add up.

Stow: 'I'd rather eat feces than a Dodger Dog'

ZACTLY, JJwins, you can't even LOOK at those scum without a "chu lookeen at mangk". Don't even THINK about not letting them cut you off in traffic or God forbid, honk your horn. They will literally follow you for miles out of their way quite often pullin the butt end of the pice out just high enough for you to see it. I'm in outside sales in SoCal and see this behavior day in and day out. They are by far, the worst of ANY ethnic group. I swear, they go out of their way to look for confrontation. I don't get this type of reaction when driving down Central Ave or over on Bolsa Ave. Both of which are in very ethnic neighborhoods.

Crossed the line? Everyone know feces is in hot dogs anyway.

Is this suppose to somehow justifying assault? The guy argues, doesn't use profanities or slurs and is supposedly deservedly beaten? What?

Now that of beating victim Bryan Stow arguing
TMZ is run by the same guy who help get OJ off. What's his new quote? Maybe it's  " If the guy bad mouths Dodger meat, he must get beat."

I hope they guy they have now gets his day in court and they throw the book at him. He'll be eating plenty of Dodger dogs there.

Condoning the beatdown in ANY way shape or form is NOTHING less than idiotic, moronic, stupid, retarded and juvenile. Regardless of provocation.
Christ, all he used was WORDS, FFS. What is with YOU PEOPLE?

teeeit18, who cares if he is with his family? I mean, he cant use his family as a shield to protect him from his own stupidity. If he said the wrong thing thing to the wrong people, do you think having a kid with him would protect him from a beating?

I think this whole situation is horrible, but if that guy in fact provoked the attack, I dont feel too sorry for the guy. If he was just some guy with his family at the ballgame, supporting his team, while some fans of the other team just randomly beat the crap out of him just because, thats one thing, but now the victim is starting to look less innocent...

Well, if you poke the beast, the beast will attack you, and the beast takes many forms. This guy poked the beast.

Stow: 'I'd rather eat feces than a Dodger Dog'

What's amazing to me is that if it was two cops pummeling someone there would have been 50 cellphone camera videos from all the fans walking in the parking lot that night.  Instead we have two Dodger fans pummeling a Giants fan and all of a sudden no one in the vicinity has a cell phone camera with an interest in shooting the video.  Even if you shot it to post on FB for Dodger fans to check out it seems fairly hard to believe no one shot a pic or video of the beating.  Stow clearly did not deserve to be beaten within inches of his death but I suspect he mouthed off to someone he didn't know and that always carries unknown risks.  It makes me less eager to attend a Dodger game because fans have a difficult time controlling themselves.  Even a beach ball that is taken away gets boos from Dodger fans.  If only one of them would get drilled by a line drive foul some day to wake them up that baseball fans are there to watch and enjoy the game not have a beach ball smacked around by semi-drunken fools and kids.  Maturity is not high on the list of qualities of Dodger fans from what I have seen in over 40 years going to the park.  It's a shame.
