Willie HarrisSad news from New York: The Mets' Willie Harris has been put on the bereavement list after he and his wife lost their baby last night.

Harris flew back to New York after last night's game to be with his wife who went into early labor at just five months. The child did not survive.

Best wishes to Harris at a time like this that has to be extremely difficult for him and his family.

The Mets called up outfielder Fernando Martinez from Triple-A Buffalo to take Harris' roster spot.

Players can be on the bereavement list a minimum of three days and a maximum of seven.

This is so sad.  Is it even possible for a child so premature live?  Not being a jerk, just do not know.  5 months is barely past 1/2 way to a the normal 9 months.  Also Bond>Ruth, you'd better pray your right or else your in big trouble, oh yeah you do not believe in that.  Also few would agree that Bonds was or is better than Ruth so you are probably wrong on that one too.  Bonds may be slightly better than you.  3rd strike and your out!

Sad to think that you would blame God for the loss of a child....I know what Harria and his wife is feeling and without God my wife and I wouldn't have survived these past 45 years since our son's death...you should be ashamed of your comment

Why would he find comfort from a guy who died 2,000 years ago? Didn't "god" just take his baby before it was even born? Another christian failing to use common sense. God believers are such idiots.

Prayers go out to the Harris family during this tough time. I hope they will find comfort from the Lord Jesus and from their friends and family.
