The biggest notable name that's not on the list is Yankees' starter CC Sabathia, who is scheduled to start next Sunday, so he wouldn't be eligible to pitch in the game anyway. He also said he was happy not to go, instead using his time off to take a mini-vacation.

Derek was voted in by the fans.  The fans have a right to see whoever they choose, deserving or not.  Like other legends before him, Jeter was selected to participate in the All Star game despite other players at his position having a better year.

Wille Mays was selected to his last All Star game when he hit .211 for the year.
Hank Aaron was selected when he hit .238
Mickey Mantle was selected when he hit .237

Fans buy the tickets; fans buy the products advertised by sponsors; they pay to see their choice.  The fans only get 10 choices; the manager gets 7 choices and the players get 17 choices.  Its the fans game, let them choose their favorite players, deserving or not.  Then leave it up to the manager and players to pick those deserving.  Obviously the players felt Russell Martin deserved the nod with his 10 HRs and 7 SB.

Ron Washington on drugs....again!

They snub of Sabathia speaks volumes about the intelligence of Ron Washington.  All other managers have picked deserving pitchers, even though they pitched on the Sunday before, knowing they could replace them with pitchers who could pitch on Tuesday.  But Ron Ron is on drugs again.

Either Ron is a liar or just plain stupid....

No one does cocaine for the first time at age 57!..  That is either a lie or he is a complete idiot for trying an illegal drug that he supposedly knows nothing about. Knowing he could lose his job because his employer does random drug testing.

Either way.....Ron Ron is a moron.

Laughing my a ss off at all the Wankee cry babies on here!!

Fat CC was snubbed, but quit crying!  Joe Torre selected nothing but Spankees year after year - so for my boy Ron Ron to put CJ in was the right move... considering CC pitches on Sunday.

Martin at Catcher?  What a joke!!

Old Man Jeter at SS?  Pathetic.

Is there really an argument for the ultimate POS Teixeira?  Dude's batting .244

So in short, shut your damn pie holes and be happy with what you have in there.

It's not gonna matter anyway after my Ranger's beat the Flakees again this year to reach the WS!!

Let's Go Rangers!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!  The Wankees are getting what they deserve!!  Remember when Joe Torre chose every Yankee every year?

It's called KARMA biotch!!

Even though fat CC was snubbed,  the Yankees have more players in the game than anyone else.

Russell Martin at C?  Really?  That guy blows.

Captain Jeter starting?  LMAO!  He sucks!

Quit your whining you spoiled brat!

The Fox.

You stated that CC Sabathia was "ineligible" for All Star selection because he was pitching the Sunday before the All Star game.  That is absolutely FALSE. No one is "ineligible" from making the All Star team.  In the past the manager selecting All Star pitchers would select all deserving pitchers, then use the opportunity to expand the All Star team by replacing the deserving pitcher who pitched on Sunday with another deserving pitcher who could pitch on Tuesday.
Sabathia has more wins than anyone in MLB;
Sabathia has more K's than Wilson, Weaver, Beckett, or Gonzalez;
Sabathia has a lower ERA than Wilson, Hernandez, or Price
Sabathia has a lower WHIP than Wilson or Gonzalez
Sabathia has more IP than Wilson, Beckett, Gonzalez, Weaver, Price, or Shields

Sabathia has better numbers than CJ Wilson in every major pitching category.  Of course Ron Washington picked his own boy.  We all know that.  Why not just come out and admit it.  Ron Washington is a liar and lacks integrity.  Anyone who says they did cocaine for the first time in their life when they were 57 is a liar.  WHO STARTS DOING COCAINE AT THE AGE OF 57!!!!  I think MLB should test him again,  I think he's been hitting the 8-ball again.

The Fox, maybe you should do a little research before you post inaccurate statements.
