At the All-Star FanFest helping Pepsi Max get the word out about a promotion that could bring baseball legends to your hometown to play a game, Justin Upton spoke to about the Home Run Derby, as well as Arizona's surprising contention.

Upton was glowing in his review of the fans as he's been able to connect with the fans in a way that caused them to shower him with their love and support throughout the All-Star festitivites. However, that showed up in a negative fashion Monday night during the Home-Run Derby when NL Derby captain Prince Fielder was showered with boos for selecting teammate Rickie Weeks to participate in the Derby ahead of Upton. Upton called Weeks treatment "unfair," as he had to contend with "Just-in Up-ton" chants en route to mustering just three home runs and being knocked out in the first round.

As for 'Zona staying in the postseason chase, Upton attributes that to simply playing hard for all 27 outs. To continue staying in the thick of the race, though, Upton says that the team needs more pitching -- but what team doesn't?

He also spoke about the possibility of Rays center fielder B.J. Upton joining the Diamondbacks in a trade, saying he'd welcome the opportunity to play with his brother.

I love the game of baseball and enjoy the all star game and hr derby.

To basically say that it was a SAD display of baseball fans in Arizona this week is a understatment. For years players have been shut out of the All Star game thanks to fans votes. Your guy Upton was there and you should be proud of that and let that be. To boo a guy that decided to go with a player that has hit more HRs is not a hard decision. To boo the player (Weeks) that for the first time in the derby showed up because he was asked to isn't something that you should have boo'd.

Basically what I am saying is that you Arizona fans showed poor poor poor judgement this past few days. The whole NATION was watching you as you showed bad character for your rediculous booing. I will be watching with great interest to watch the Brewers come into Arizona for 4 games and hopefully they take it to you. You should all be ashamed for your antics. Next time at least have a decent reason for your booing. Being a Arizona in Arizona is NOT a good reason to boo. Many players in the past haven't been able to participate in the HR derby for their home fans. Especially those with BELOW AVERAGE NUMBERS.

Congrats to all those that were out there and showing the nation just how immature you Arizona fans truly are. That was Weeks first time and it is documented that first time HR derby participants don't fair well, and neither would Upton. So great job D-backs or better known as D-ba (oops better stop there) You can figure out the rest.

You can have B.J. - He is lazy inconsistent and does not seem to care about anything, except his paycheck.

Shows you what kind of joke this homer run contest is turning into!
hahaha - its a home run derby, when hasn't it been a joke?

But still, just enjoy the show
precisely.  The home run derby is a meaningless show.  Sit back, drink your beer and enjoy the fireworks.  Probably did Upton a favor.  The homerun derby has broken more than a couple swing in the past half decade for the second half regular season, when they are actually needed.

I'll bet she has more pop than Weeks.
Good call!!

So, how much more pop does Prince's mom have than Upton? Last time I checked, Weeks has more home runs in the same number of games as Upton does this season, and he had a dozen more than Upton last season.

Doesn't sound to me like Upton got shafted. Sounds to me like if he wants to participate in a home run derby, he should actually try to do the one thing required by a home run derby. Hit home runs.

In Uptons last 843 at bats, Upton has "slugged" exacty 32 home runs. Or, in terms the typical cry baby D-Bag follower can understand, 3 more than Weeks had last season.

Yeah, they shouldnt boo Weeks, they should have bood Fielder for not selecting Upton.  And what a weak crowd they were anyways.
A weak crowd?? I would disagree and say a pissed off crowd that they had to sit through the pitiful display put on by Fielder's team. The media in phoenix has been all over the fact that Upton got shafted in his hometown and we all had to watch Rickie "Weaks" Weeks put on a display of power you could only find in a tee ball game......good call Prince, you should have just brought your mom to hit......I'll bet she has more pop than Weeks.

I don't condone the booing of Prince Fielder, but I understand it. However, why would you boo Rickie Weeks? He is not the one who picked the teams and he has more home runs than Matt Holliday. If you are going to boo anybody, then boo him: he is the one who should have been dumped in favor of Upton.

I agree, he should have had a chance in front of the home crowd. But still, just enjoy the show why boo the players.
