Tejada snaps at reporters

Miguel TejadaBy C. Trent Rosecrans

As noted earlier, the Giants added Orlando Cabrera on Saturday night and want him to be their everyday shortstop. That's not sitting well with the incumbent.

Miguel Tejada was not a happy camper before Sunday's game in Cincinnati, snapping at reporters for writing he doesn't have the range to play shortstop (or, you know, the truth). From Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News:

“People forget I’ve done too much in this game,” said Tejada, who is on the disabled list with an abdominal strain. “All the things you guys put in the papers, that I don’t have range in this game, I’ll prove it. I never pay attention to what reporters put about me. The only thing I do is hard work. … All the reporters in San Francisco forget who I am.”

“I’m here. If they want me here, I’m fine. If they don’t, I really don’t worry about it.”

Tejada can come off the disabled list on Wednesday, but manager Bruce Bochy said he's still "a couple of weeks" from returning.

Tejada snaps at reporters

Tejada is just an out of shape over the hill baseball player. The fact that he took drugs during the steroid era just means that he'll break down more now. Hope he saved up some cash.... there is no job coaching or announcing in his future....maybe not even playing again this year for the Giants.

There is a chance Tenada can still make a contribution this year but it will be as a pinch hitter.

I don't see how a guy with his history has the nerve to say a d@mn thing about what anybody says. What an ego! Cut the garbage and retire...go join Manny Ramirez in the "No body loves me" retirement home...

Between the juicing and multiple teams....

Between the juicing, and all of the teams he's played for, I have to admit --I forgot who he was, too.  Most of that was on purpose. though.  The guy needs to be thankful for where he is, and accept the fact that along with the millions that he makes, that there are strings attached.  There are expectations.  This is not a welfare check that he is getting; he is supposed to earn it.  Get over it.

He's been terrible with the glove, only hitting .240...should he even have expected to keep his job?? The Giants are finally making moves where they need it the most. They have gone thru like 5 or 6 short stops, and now have one that is an automatic upgrade in Cabrera, and most of all they needed a bat and they got it with Beltran. Tejada needs to keep his mouth shut, he's playing on a championship team that needs championship caliber players...He's not one of them

Let's see he took steroids and lied about his age, We know what you are and that's a cheater and a liar. You're a washed up player still believing he's an elite one. That just makes you delusional. When all is said and done, Miguel Tejada will be forgotten because of the lies and the cheating.
