Chris CapuanoBy C. Trent Rosecrans

How desperate are the Red Sox to hold on to their incredible shrinking wild card lead? So desperate the team is looking to trade for pitchers to just finish out the regular season. According to the Boston Herald, the Red Sox have spent the last week trying to get lefty Chris Capuano from the Mets to start Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

According to the report, the Mets will hold on to Capuano, who is a free agent after the season. Capuano is the scheduled starter for the Mets on Thursady in a 1:45 p.m. game against the Cardinals.

If the Red Sox did get Capuano -- or any other pitcher -- that player wouldn't be eligible for the postseason, but they could use him over the last week of the season.

Capuano, 33, is 11-12 with a 4.47 ERA in 29 starts (and two relief appearances) for the Mets this season. He started for the Mets against the Yankees on May 21 and didn't fare well -- allowing six runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings while giving up four homers.

Seriously Theo & Red Sawx nation....Chris Capuchino to start against a Yankee team that`s already clinched???  Eric Bedard thinks Capuano sucks.  Why not have Theo call his man crush the Ol Money Ball genius out in Oakland. The human Disabled List Rich Harden has been a target, or if Ben Sheets arm is still attached why not him.  It is sad what the AL East does to pitchers, but you bragged how you owned the Yankees & their starting pitching blows.  Even with idiots like AJ the Yanks have the AL`s best record...deal with it & don`t send old man Capuano out to get battered.

Actually, Thurman Munson's claim to fame was hitting .378 in the postseason, being the captain of a team that was back to back championships and on his way to a hall of fame catching career.  How old are you sackless, 12? A Jets, Celtics, A's fan?  What the **** is that?  Are you trying to defend Big Sloppy here or are you a A's fan?  Which is it?  ****ing fraud.

Sack Exchange?  LOL  What sack exchange?

Desperate?  I find it briliiant that The Redsox are trying to trade for a starting pitcher based on the fact that their rotation is so beatup!  They're not quiters!  They want to win.  Right now their pitching is not so hot so why not try to help out the staff, the team and the organization!  The goal is to get to the post season, any way and any which way you can.  They still have a 2.5 game lead in the wild card.  They have six games left.  Wouldn't any team try to improve to get to the season?  Of course they would.  Wouldn't be surprised if the Braves were also looking to add pitching in the last week of the season to help them get to the post season!

Whatever Vut.  Mick is very correct.  while every team has their self-centered egotists who make far too much money, Boston's version - Papi - is doing it while his team goes down in flames, all the while that they still are the wild card, as of today.

Keep hanging your head Papi, you ****ing fat slob of patheticness.   Keep quitting on your team.

micks mantle your overstated your rant and to finish it with a "I see them as self-centered egotists who make far too much money to play a kid's game" is kinda stupid conserdering every team has them and none more than the Yanks.
