Leo NunezBy C. Trent Rosecrans

Marlins closer Leo Nunez has been suspended and placed on the restricted list, the Miami Herald reported.

"I can't yet comment," Nunez's agent, Andy Mota, told the newspaper. "This is very recent. I don't want to say anything at all."

According to the report, Nunez is on his way back to his native Dominican Republic while the team traveled to Milwaukee.

Nunez, 28, has 36 saves in 68 appearances for the Marlins with a 4.06 ERA. He is arbitration eligible after the season and will be a free agent after next. He earned $3.65 million this season.

LOL! Studly Budlee talked too early. Turns out that Leo Nunez is dealing with an issue of him using a fake name.

Want some salt to go with that foot in your mouth?

Study Budlee -

Gotta love it when people like you who have absolutely NO knowledge about a particular team decide to spew garbage like that. You have NO CLUE what Nunez did. None of us do. How do you know what he did didn't merit this punishment from the Marlins?

I also get a kick out of you saying the Marlins' players "won't stick around very long" when the Marlins are entering a new stadium next year and have been rumored to be in the mix for major FAs such as Pujols, Fielder, C.J. Wilson, and Aramis Ramirez.

Maybe you should worry more about your Braves choking their lives away in the fall (what a surprise) and not be so concerned with what the Marlins are doing.

Actually, the Marlins had been having issues with him not following on the field instructions for a couple of years now. I understand that they have been trying to get him to improve his secondary pitches and use them in games, but he has battled everyone including his catchers. This isn't much of a surprise really.

What a joke.

Morrison, Cameron and now Nunez and that is just this year. You (Marlin's management not the fans) better learn to treat players right or it dont matter if you get Dallas Cowboys stadium, players wont come. I guarantee that if you set up a poll and said guess what team placed a player on the restricted list. 80% of cbs sports followers would say Marlins.

As a Braves fan I was really dreading the Morrison, Stanton, Hanley, combined with the young pitching staff facing us. Now I dont think they will stick around long.
