The 2011 Angels improved by six games from the 2010 Angels, but still missed the playoffs for the second consecutive year. This came after winning the AL West five of the previous six seasons and evidently ownership was none too pleased. General manager Tony Reagins resigned last week, but it appears to have been a forced resignation, considering owner Arte Moreno said a change was needed in the front office.

Front-office makeover
And that change didn't stop with the removal of Reagins. Ken Forsch and Gary Sutherland have been fired from their respective positions, CBSSports.com's Scott Miller has confirmed.

Forsch has been the assistant general manager for the Angels for the past 14 years and was the director of player development before that. Sutherland has been the special assistant to the general manager for the past 12 years.

Basically, it would appear the Angels are ready to gut everything between manager Mike Scioscia and owner Arte Moreno. Other members of the front office probably shouldn't be too comfortable with their current employment status. Not even the assistant to the traveling secretary ...

The Angels should not have traded Napoli to a team that already had SOLID options at catcher (Arencibia, Molina).  The Angels could not predict that the Blue Jays would trade Napoli or any other catcher to one of their division rivals but IT HAPPENED!  And they shot themselves in the foot.  I blame the trade of NAPOLI on Scioscia.  Scioscia's ego would not allow for a OFFENSE first catcher.  Napoli has a VALUABLE bat, and Scioscia should have found a way to keep him, even if it meant "teaching" him how to CATCH or using him as DH or 1B.

Where did the Rangers get Hamilton and Beltre?  Great pick ups.  A winning team is a rare mixture of young and older players, homegrown and free agents, and guys trying to earn a big contract and guys trying to justify the big contract they signed.

Washington is a great manager!  He works well with his players and knows how to use them.  The players respect him and are loyal to him.

Lifelong Angel fan and having gone through some AWFUL seasons before this one didn't even come close to as dissapointing as many others before it. I am on the other hand all for some off season activity. Yes, I am glad to see Reagins go but don't know or really care about the other two guys. Not to sure about keeping Mickey Hatcher around as his approach with our hitters the last couple of years has been AWFUL. If he goes next I'm all for it. But that is probably not going to happen but if it does, Scioscia best be on his guard and stash the EGO because he'll get one more year at this thing then we'll be on the market for another manager too. Perhaps Arte will go after Epstien if he doesn't head to the Cubs just praying he stays away from Depodesta. That man is a cancer and should never be allowed in any teams front office.

Could Moreno become the dan Snyder of the MLB?  If I was Scioscia, I'd be worried.

Scoscia and Moreno must be buddies or Moreno thinks he's the greatest manager to walk the planet. And don't think for a second that both weren't involved in or knew about the Napoli trade before it happened. They just had no idea Toronto was going to turn around and deal Napoli to Texas. Napoli goes to Texas and has a really nice season helping his team to the division title and playoffs. Second place again next season for the AL West Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Sosh I believe made te final decision but who ever made the final trade decision screwed up by not sending him to the NL and why couldn't we have used him as the DH this year and traded Abreu as he has been the biggest waste of a lineup space unfortunately and the writing was on the wall in the year before!
