Red Sox losing pitching coach, too

Curt YoungBy C. Trent Rosecrans

Pitching coach Curt Young has returned to the A's after serving in the same capacity for the Red Sox last season.

Young had spent 23 years with the A's before joining the Red Sox, including his time as a player, a minor league coach and serving as the pitching coach from 2004-10.

Young had a contract dispute with the A's last year, pushing his hand to leave Oakland. He returns after an eventful year in Boston, which ended with controversy over the starting pitchers' work ethic and actions during games. The Red Sox, of course, have also lost their manager and will lose their general manager. With that much unknown, he can return to the ultimate familiarity of a place where he's spent the majority of his professional career.

With how the pitching staff as this season, I wouldn't exactly say it is a loss.  More like good luck and good riddance.  He did not do a good job working with and getting veteran pitchers ready.  He may work better with younger guys.

Somebody needs to get christheyankee his anti-psychotic medication quickly.

Also, nice to see you're back under a new screen name, 1977Troll. The message boards just weren't as stupid without you despite people like chris picking up the slack.

Without even looking at a word of the article by C Trent Rosecrans(I can't believe they took the r out of the name)Rosencrans,Rosecrans. What's the difference?I guess you never grew up around Jews or rich aristocrats,in my neighborhood we used to call em W.A.S.P.It stood for White Anglo Saxon Protestant.I never was nor am I now,LOL,a W.A.S.P.you can put whatever acronym on it but it's class seperation, and believe me,it has a whole heck of a lot to do with $MONEY$ If disaster strikes it's gonna be worthless $Money$.I'm not paticularly greedy about or for money. Our 1st National Freedom Fighters like 'Big G.W.' & today's Commander-In-Cheif PRESIDENT Barrack(Barry) Hussein.Obama.Back to Curt Young,he was a member of that rotation that Manager Billy Martin was accused of blowing all his pitchers arms out like Mike Norris,Rick Langford,Steve McCatty.I think that's all 4 Starters on that 1980 Staff. And who remembers anybody else from that team.I know it still had 3 Catchers, which a lot of teams held onto 3-Cs because you had such a small Pitching Staff. If my memory serves me right, every team had between 6-9 Pitchers, right?

I'm going with Tek/Salty fan or maybe even Soxkillaz (just kidding Killaz...I know you're at least smart enough to realize New England isn't a city). Well ALCHYSOX...are you man enough to step up to the plate and take a credibility hit? Who am I kidding? What credibility?...

Gee, I hope this doesn't adversely affect Lackey's performance.
