Cubs All-Star shortstop Starlin Castro has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman last fall, according to CBS Chicago.

The woman, reportedly in her 20s, said she was drinking with friends late last September when she and a friend left the bar and went to Castro's apartment at 3 a.m. She reportedly blacked out and then was allegedly being sexually assaulted by Castro when she came to. The police report, according to CBS Chicago, says the woman remembers screaming when she woke up at 5:30 a.m., yelled at Castro and left immediately. The alleged victim then filed a police report 12 hours later.

The Cubs have released the following statement:

“We are aware that a police report was filed regarding an incident involving Starlin, but we have received limited information. While this is something we take very seriously, there is not enough information to make any further comment or take action at this time. We are hopeful when the facts are brought to light, Starlin will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”

Castro's attorneys have released the following statement:

"We are aware of certain allegations that have been made against our client, Starlin Castro. We have thoroughly investigated this matter, and we are confident that these allegations are baseless. Given the sensitive nature of this matter, we cannot comment any further."

Castro, 21, has yet to be interviewed by police because he flew back to his home in the Dominican Republic, as scheduled, the very day the accuser filed her police report -- which was September 29, the day after the Cubs' season ended.

Report: Starlin Castro accused of sexual assault

How very typical of the Cubs...finally find and develop a stud and the historic loser mentality finds it's way in and infected him. The Cubs are the biggest joke of an organization.  Epstein came here a genius and he will leave with his tail between his legs.  This team from top to bottom is filled with losers and idiots.  I used to be a Cubs fan but can no longer take it, from the drunken morons in the stands who have zero interest in the game looking for the nearest girl slurring her words so they can go eat burritos late night and put on more weight to the ass clowns in the front office.  New Cub ownership was supposed to bring about big changes and a whole new mentality but alas it's just more of the same maybe worse.  They think by acquiring a slew of .240 hitters and good clubhouse guys something "magical" will happen.  You want to help fix the Cubs start by playing your games at night.  These guys go out and party until 3 or 4 am and then think they perform when the games start @ noon.  Give players a new stadium and a reason to come here.  Wrigley is a big piece of junk, tear down everything except for the scorboard and ivy covered wall.  Too much nostalga and history you say, if they can tear down Yankee stadium then they can surley do something with Wrigley.  The Cubs have about as more lore as the wart on my ass unless you are speaking of how pathetic they are.

Report: Starlin Castro accused of sexual assault

I'm tired of all these women getting drunk at bars.... then "blacking out" and accusing a rich famous athlete of sexual assault.  Why was she at his apartment at 3am?  Why did she get so drunk that she blacked out?  Why?

I'm not saying Castro is innocent of anything, what I am saying is that she is just as guilty of making a bad decision.  But her bad decision will reward her financially.... There's something wrong with that.  Just saying.

Report: Starlin Castro accused of sexual assault

When women go home with me from the bar i assume they are wanting to get sexually assaulted....I havent been wrong yet.  If I had a dollar for everytime this has happened to me.

You probably end up with a queer three dollar bill, moron.  Has anyone thought that any person who met someone famous would want to hang out with that person after a business closes?  I guess under all of the moronic comments all the women at nude beaches want to get raped??

>>>>During all this, they begin getting it on, and she wakes up and cries rape.

Any woman - or man for that matter - who drinks so much that they pass out at a stranger's house is an idiot and will hopefully quickly win a Darwn award.

Having said that - *you* point out why this is a crime. She's *unconscious* and he's having sex with her? That's rape!

Report: Starlin Castro accused of sexual assault

Kind of ironic that just this morning I read an article stating how Castro was the future of the Cubs and Epstien planned on building around him.............and how they got rid of Zambrano because they felt he was a problem. Big Z looks pretty tame now huh Theo?
