Ryan BraunBy C. Trent Rosecrans

National League MVP Ryan Braun will appear at this Saturday's Baseball Writers Association of America dinner, as CBSSports.com Insider Jon Heyman reported earlier this month. But the question remains if he'll say anything regarding his positive drug test last season?

Braun's spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, told the New York Times on Wednesday that Braun would show up, accept the award and make a short speech.

However, Braun, who hasn't made any public statements since news broke that he'd failed the drug test in October, isn't expected to do any interviews.

Braun, and other winners of the BBWAA awards, are expected to attend the dinner. It seems unlikely that he will address the failed test before his appeal is ruled upon by MLB.

Braun and his representatives have steadfastly denied any wrongdoing, while admitting the positive drug test.

The only responsible thing to do is admit it, take the award and in public give it to Kemp, sit the 50 games, get tested as much as humanly possible and in a few years live this all down, but always carry the *** next to your name.
That's the ONLY responsible thing to do? What if he actually didn't do anything wrong? Let me get this straight....

If YOU get tested for drugs at your job, and YOU know for a FACT that you have never taken any illegal drugs, yet you fail, the only responsible thing for YOU to do is to stand up, admit that you did indeed take them, and suffer the consequences.

You see how stupid that sounds?

Keep drinking the Koolaid....his test had been determined positive....what more to say. He is guilty. As for a court of law, he wont get his day in court. He is not being charged with anything other than another cheater in the game. Bonds did put weight on but not as much as you stated. He got bigger over time but using PEDs doesnt always mean bigger but yet faster and stronger. Go Brewers!!!

Guilty until proven innocent? You folks got it backwards innocent until proven guilty as our laws state. If he was under a doctors care for whatever he will get a slap on the wrist. This is not like Bonds who gained 40 lbs over 1 off season. give the Man his day in court.

We may nevr know the entire truth about all of this, but facts are facts.  There is a list of banned substances, these are highly paid athletes that can make a ton of money per the preformance they provide on the field.  PEDS helps with healing and the ability to preform, they may not help with hand eye coordination, but they can change a 35 HR hitter into a 70 HR hitter, not mentioning any names.  So the athlete takes responsibility for what goes into his body, doctor's advice or not.  He not only tested positive, but his numbers were off the chart.  The only responsible thing to do is admit it, take the award and in public give it to Kemp, sit the 50 games, get tested as much as humanly possible and in a few years live this all down, but always carry the *** next to your name.

Dont know why there are any people defending this guy....
Because, as of right now, he has yet to have his day in court. I realize most of you love to convict people without due process, but this is just absurd. If he did indeed cheat, he deserves what he gets. The problem? He was outed for an ANONYMOUS test. There is a reason that these are supposed to be kept anonymous until after the appeals process. It's because if it doesn't, the guy is convicted in the court of public opinion no matter what happens.

Lets just say for arguments sake that it turns out that Braun did nothing wrong. How many of you are going to believe it? How many of you are going to be posting on here about how wrong you were? Does anyone think that those scumbags at ESPN are going to retract their numerous burnings of Braun over the last couple of months?

Braun and his representatives have steadfastly denied any wrongdoing, while admitting the positive drug test.
Sad that any of these guys have to do that before even having their day in court. I sure hope that MLB is doing the proper thing and investigating their leak. Whoever leaked this should be fired immediately.

listen all of you- there is absolutely no way Mr Braun has cheat or broken any rules - he has many positive figures speaking on his behalf, a few have come forward;

i have personally looked into his conditioning vs his age and see no reason to question - Danny Almonte

his facial hair is no thicker than any of his other team mates or mine - East german Womens olympic anything

his base path speed unconditionally proves he is clean - Ben Johnson/Carl lewis

his IQ has remained constant with no change for years - spanish paralympian baseketball team

any ball he has ever touched has came away unscathed - Phil Niekro

his endurance is somewhat limited - Rosie ruiz

a few cloudy tests dont prove a thing - Lance Johnson

guess that means he is clean!

BBWAA, please accept my sincere apologies as I am unable to accept any award at this time.  I cannot and will not sully the reputation of Major League Baseball, your group, nor of any honor directed toward me until my name is completely cleared in the recent PED alleged-positive case.  I'm deeply grateful and have the utmost respect for your organization, and for Major League Baseball.  Thank you.

-- Wait... this is not how it went down?  Another athlete who simply does not possess understanding beyond the playing of a game.  Mr. Braun, I'm guessing your folks raised you better than that.  I'm also guessing that the next time I see you in HD close-up, those bug-eyes will be gone.  Either that or you're on your way to joining Manny, Raffy, Roger, Barry, et al.  I suggest the Brew set you up as the L-screen during upcoming spring drills.  For the whole time.  Until the season starts.  Nice knowin' ya in a good way.

Hebrew Hammer should hand that tainted MVP to Kemp and go hide until June.
So is Yankee fan ready to hand over all of the rings his favorite team won with a whole team full of roiders? Clemens, Petitte, Knoblach, Justice....do I need to go on?

Gotta love the hypocrites.
